Wow .... fun experiment. I love these colours together. It is hard to capture the gorgeousness of colours on this. I’ve never done resin in lines (or small sections of a piece) over several days like this, so was interesting to watch where you were going with it. My favourite section is where you showed the close up effects with the gold & purple together.... stunning 😍. I’ve accidentally covered up parts I wanted to keep before too. Resin art can be so challenging, & thrilling at the same time haha. Regarding the crystals, I love your idea (with a bit smaller sizes). Thank you for sharing your creative process. 🥰

Layering is so much more complicated than it looks. I see Iveta do multiple layers with results that are beyond words. This one is the best I've ever managed. But I also believe it's a question of practice. Even though I produced this pretty cool piece, I'm still such a newbie who practices like 2-3 times a year when I get a resin vibe. Anyhoo, thank you so much Michele I LOVE the colors you sent me. It's crazy how you can just layer the pigment on top of the opaque color, torch, and the magic happens on it's own. Ok I just got an idea LOL :)! I have a question, have you ever poured resin on records? I have this project in mind but I'm wondering about the hole in the middle of the record.
@artworksresincanada3 жыл бұрын
@@MelyDartist I do a lot of layering too, but I tend to do my layers covering the whole substrate each session. Although I do have an autumn scene I’m working on that I just do bits at a time (might be a year before I finish 😂). Generally I try to put clear over areas I want to keep then layer colours for added effects & features. Yes, the pastes are incredible for added effects. That’s why I thought you might especially enjoy a play with them. I have not done a record but many people do. Many artists resin on records to make clocks as well. If you don’t want the hole...You can just put painters tape on bottom side of hole. Burnish/Press tape down well so no resin leaks under. Fill the hole with resin, let cure (or set for a few hours) , then create over the whole record.
@artworksresincanada3 жыл бұрын
@@MelyDartist and yes layering is more complicated than it appears. So many times I’ve accidentally covered things Or areas wish I hadn’t. The resin often doesn’t necessarily stay the way we plan it out either no matter how much experience we have lol.

It's beautiful!!! Definitely worth the time it took. I would love to delve into the world of resin but an extremely nervous to do so.
@crystalc58633 жыл бұрын
Think of it like this, by being nervous, you've already accomplished what you are nervous about doing, failing! Don't be nervous to mess up, if that is what you are nervous about. It's going to happen, but also maybe you'll get better and learn with each time. If it's about buying supplies and failing I get that, I don't have an open bank account for supplies, and it's a heart break to spend so much money and time just for it to go to waste, but at least the learning isn't a waste. But if you never try something you like because you're afraid to fail, then you've already failed. If you really want to do it, have fun and do it 😁. If this isn't what you meant and you're nervous about something else, just ignore everything I said lol
@hollywatts84203 жыл бұрын
@@crystalc5863 that was exactly what I was/am nervous about and I really appreciate your comment. I think I will try but just going to have to start out small. Thank you for your words, it was what I needed. ❤

It is beautiful!! My problem is, no matter how hard I try, and boy do I try..there is ALWAYS several pieces of debris that completely ruins everything I do. Beyond frustrated and no idea how to either stop it or fix it, leaving me with a near perfect piece of rubbish. I run my filter and cover as best I can but must be not seeing things until too late. It has made me sad and about to give up completely.
@MelyDartist3 жыл бұрын
I used to be like that too. Freak out over the debris. To the point where i stopped doing resin altogether. I came back to it with a different mentality because I love the final result. Its only a horrible ruin because you make it that way in your head. Others see it as a beauty. Let that shit go. Accept that crap falls into it and move on. It's the only way:)
