Hi Suzanne 🙋‍♀️ Yes I am a child of the fifties and my Hubby is a child of the late Forties! We often reminisce about how much has changed since we were small life seemed to roll along at a gentler pace of life then .Tradition and respect were also important to life. Letters were a regular in the post from relatives keeping in touch…l remember walking to the village for our groceries with my Mum ..no supermarkets then or cars to jump in …!! No coffee shops or garden centres to go to either for a nice cup of coffee that we take for granted now..! 😀. We may not have had the creature comforts we rely on now but there’s a sort of comfort remembering that era ♥️ I love Georgianna in her duckling outfit Just gorgeous 💛💛💛💛💛 Thank you for sharing 🙋‍♀️♥️♥️♥️

Gorgeous sleeper! I love the collar. Great memories, I was born in the 60's and remember my Dad getting our colour TV from Redifusion! Also my grandma had a mangle in her pantry to "squeeze" the washing, I used to wash my dolly clothes and put them through it!🥰

Giorgiana looks adorable 😍 I and Amber too❤ ! This is a great idea remembering the past and compare it with nowadays 😊 I was born in 73 I clearly remember the washing machines , televisions , and the redifiusion / radio . There used to be very nice programs and story telling . the turntable to play music 😅😅 I still remember the sounds that TV did when warming up and the sounds of springs when pressing buttons yo change the programs it was hard to find a station as those times we had aerials on the roof 😀 you brought me soo many memories here in Malta I remember fisher men / haberdashery men / petroleum men / Baker men / rabbits in cages to be killed for cooking rabbit stew . All of them used to come in streets shouting who need to buy this or that . ( fesh fish !! Fresh fruits !! Fresh eggs!! 😂 fresh capers !! they still linger in my ears !!! I remember lamps and cookers with one burner that used to work with petroleum 😅 the used to be used as a heater too !! Ii still remember soo many children playing in streets shouting and laughing eating sweets and at times when it's someone's birthday parent prepare popcorn sweets and chips for all the children in the street to celebrate while playing soo many games !!!! I remember parents taking out their chairs on pavements talking and at times pray the rosary !! I beleive it was nicer and safer life than now here in Malta all traditions culture and maltese beautiful houses and beaches are destroyed . Too much pollution too much high buildings 😢 the 2 tiny heavenly safe and calm islands turned into a complete hell !!! . Very dangerous night and day . No more families, no more weddings ! no more children ! All is gone the very few children we have here 70 % of them ends up autistic after their 9 th month with the dangerous vaccines that are given so couples are deciding not to bring children any more cause they won't be allowed to send them to school without vaccines .

She's so cute Beautiful sleeper, I remember getting up to change the tv,my brother well put a wire hanger to get a better channel on TV we took turns to get up and change the channel at first it was black and white then my mom got a color tv,i never had a dishwasher, when we were small the washing machine was a roller I remember one day my mom got her hand in the roller, she couldn't get her had out,the only thing about the,50 ---90 all the kids play outside, know all they do is play on the cell or tablet I'm from the 67 and we had lots of fun outside summer or winter lots of things change especially when my mom was born 1942 super poor. Hello Rappy, so many things have changed since we were born, and when I tell my grandchildren about how it used to be, their eyes grow huge. No seat belts in cars, no air conditioning, the list is endless. So much progress in Science and Medicine, it’s out of this world to contemplate. Awwww she looks beautiful Suzanne! I was born in 1952 and I remember you had to get up to mess with the TV! And there were only 3 channels! No cordless or cell phones, no computers....transistor radios I had to carry around. What's nice was CHRISTMAS WHEN I GOT A BABY DOLL EVERY YEAR!!!!!

Hi Suzanne! I always enjoy seeing Georgianna! She looks especially adorable today in her cute duckling sleeper. I can see why you wanted to get it for her. As a child, I remember playing outside during the day because, although we had a black & white tv, we only watched it occasionally, mainly for about an hour in the evenings. We also didn’t have a dryer, so we would help our mom hang the clothes outside on the line. I'm only 3 years behind you in age, so no electronics for us either, other than the tv. We had one car, which my dad drove to work, so we walked everywhere we needed to go during the day. What a fun topic! It took me down memory lane too.😊 Thanks for sharing yours, dear friend! She is very cute and I love the outfit ❤. The invention that stands out to me particularly is the camera incorporated in mobile phones. I take many photos and it was always cumbersome to have a camera dangling round your neck and often not convenient. Then you had to send the films off to Hemel Hempstead and wait 2 or 3 weeks to get them back. I love taking photos now and transferring them to my iPad. No waiting 🙂

Georgianna is so beautiful in her new sleeper. She looks so dainty. She is just a sweet little baby. I don't blame you for spending on your babies. There's nothing wrong with it at all. I remember when my mom and dad first got a washing machine. We still hung the clothes outside on the line. The tv was already there that I can remember. We had a phone. You had to dial the numbers. We were on a party line. People could just listen to whoever and you talking. I hated that. All types of things have been created since I was little. Fun to think of though. Take care. Georgianna looks adorable, as always. It’s been unusually warm where we live here in the northwestern United States, but we did get a little dusting of snow over the last couple of days. It can’t melt fast enough as far as I’m concerned. I was born in 1951, and things have definitely changed. We had a tv when I was a kid, and I remember lying on my belly on the living room floor, watching Saturday morning cartoons with my brothers. Of course, all the old photographs were black and white, and one time my youngest son asked me about the “black and white days” when I was a kid. I had to explain to him that the world itself was in living color-it was just the film that was black and white back then.

Oh wow, I got my Sadie soon after you got Georgianna! I saw my first colour TV in the London Science museum 😂we had a rediffusion box on the window sill where we turned the stations over. I remember getting dressed under the bed covers 😂

Hello Dear Suzanne , I remember you getting Georgiana, I have loved her ever since. Yes it is a totally different kind of life now from when I was young, I could go on for ever.,having to go to the bottom of the garden to go to the loo. Food rationing,lots of things. Don’t tell the others, but I think Georgianna is my favourite. She is precious in that gorgeous outfit, sometimes treating yourself is worth it! In the 80’s my school was the first to have an email link with a school in Australia. We had to wait a week for our messages to get a reply. My children don’t know how we survived without the internet. Got to be my favourite invention.
