Hi Clive. An excellent recovery and demonstration why it’s all so important to ensure our lathes are properly adjusted. Your solid tool post certainly shows it’s fit for purpose and you can be sure to part with confidence. Now I really must replace the “boat” on the Myford rear tool post with something better. Brilliant Clive, I’ll definitely do what I can with what I have for a rear post. That said, I believe I now know why I had problems pairing off from front. Thanks for helping.

Before pressing bearings in i would suggest a little heat

Yes, with hindsight that would have helped. The fit seemed too tight to me.
