Re: staffer revolt-Same issues in government bureaucracy. Young people come out of university into Ministry/Department X and do not realize that democracy selects their leader (Minister), but from there down the bureaucracy is 100% command and control. ...Which is why the staffing churn in federal and provincial bureaucracies is so high.

Most Canadians do not follow the minutiae of politics - but they do have mortgages or pay rent and buy groceries also they do put gas in their car to get to work - so their review of the current government comes from these - food, housing & transport! It’s that simple, without the spin and “context” - seldom has Canada suffered with such an incompetent & out of touch national government that demeaned what it means to be Canadian and reduces the standard of living of most of of us - the dustbin of history comes nigh for the Liberal Party!

In 2022, a guy came on to a local social media group to say that he was considering suicide because he worked full time and couldn't afford a 1-bedroom apartment. For those without house equity, Canada has dropped from first world to third world living standards in half a decade. If that doesn't get a party turfed out office, I don't know what would.

Maybe look around the world. What are the issues facing Americans , the British etc. in case you have not heard the world went through a pandemic ,that screwed up supply chains etc, there is a war in Ukraine & the Middle East and climate change is affecting our food supply. How could Canada not be affected by world events

I can't stand Trudeau and think he needs to go but your hyperbolic ramblings about destroying the country and what it means to be Canadian is just you refusing to acknowledge you spent your life buying the propaganda fed to you. All the problems were currently facing have existed for decades and folks have warned about. Housing being too expensive? Look at the GTA and GVA 15 years ago. It's spread through inaction by all three levels of government and all political parties inaction. If you genuinely think that someone different, the neoliberal shill in the blue tie, would have prevented a global pandemic and stopped a global cost of living crisis then you need to touch grass.

I agree with Kory, the work place now is hell. Everyone is so freaking sensitive, and can't stop talking about things that should not be talked about in a workplace. It is incredibly uncomfortable and people are walking on eggshells all the time. Don't want to upset the gen Zs or you'll get a complaint. I've seen female gen Zs breakdown and straight up start screaming like those reels. No one in management ones to deal with it, they'll literally go hide.

you guys always say its external factors that cause this change but never the leader of any conservative party, like with Pierre, you say its just because people dont like Trudeau, and now Rustad is riding Pierres coattails, none of this happens unless you have the proper leadership to take advantage of the situation and you guys are underestimating Rustad ie. see Peterson podcast, 1 hour 40 minutes that voters will eat up

They regularly reference the polling and talk about this at length. Poilievre's personal numbers aren't great in terms of hard support. The phrase a mile wide and an inch deep applies here. People are tired of Trudeau and, to their credit, the CPC have successfully tied the NDP to them in a lot of people's minds. Just because in your echo chamber people fawn of Poilievre doesn't mean that's the national sentiment. The sentiment is Trudeau must go. As for BC, Rustad is a nutter. I think Eby is doing an alright job, he's at least not despised, but he's largely victim of the anti-incumbency we see in a lot of western democracy's. And the fact that, as previously mentioned, NDP is getting tied to LPC so it affects provincial parties as well.

I don't know why you didn't touch on Pierre challenging Singh to end the coalition with Trudeau this week. Basically the biggest thing to happen in federal politics wasn't discussed.

That's hardly "big" news, even by the standards of the week. Poilievre has hinted that Trudeau is a tyrannical deity with responsibility for all major social ills since before he became Leader - challenging Singh to end the supply-and-confidence agreement is just repetition of more of the same.

He's been challenging Singh to end the coalition with Trudeau and call an election for like a year and half, because Pierre is up in the polls and it would give him a win. It's irrelevant.

I like Kory but the problem is that he’s a conservative fighting Liberals on their terms. He instinctively uses their language, he is more or less the same as a liberal. Like look how he’s dressed today. How do you think the people he grew up with think of that? We need better conservative representation on this podcast. My vote is Wyatt Claypool.
