Sorry ma'am P.V exam(to check cervical dilatation) is to be done 4 hourly not hourly(except in some conditions ),mild contractions are represented by oblique line not by partially shaded line,BP & temperature is also to be checked 4 hourly

Hi.. thank you for concern.....1cm/ hr is rate at which alert line is drawn. I didn't mention that pv should be done 1 hrly. As you said P.V. should be done 4hrly except some conditions. BP and Temp can be plotted 4th hrly, but some books mention as 2nd hrly. By partially shaded ,I meant oblique lines only.

Strength and duration of are different aspects. When both strength and duration of contraction are optimal, then progression of labour occurs.
