I had a garage sale last summer and an older lady tried scamming me by attempting to pay with fake money. A lot of scammers out there. You have lots of patience putting up with that lady the whole time.

Matt, you have the patience to deal with people. I think I would have been so nice especially since she was reaching over you. God bless you.

Thanks so much. She was a little unsettling. Was afraid when you paid the man that she was going to steal the card. Thank God she didn't. Great find, lots of research...worth it!!

The 1st thing I do is go up to the seller and ask where can put the stuff I picked up to put in a save pile . I too have had other people get in my save pile... I'm old too and it pizzes me off 😮

You had much more patience than I would of had and part of my job is working with the elderly! LOL I think there comes a point where you have to stop engaging, but it just goes to show how kind you are! When the car alarm went off while you went back to look at more stuff, I was thinking that maybe she went to your vehicle to get that LeBron card she said that she wanted! 🤣😂 Nice finds on the cards! 👍

Ngl, I’m and introvert and I honestly wouldn’t have cared, Ngl she was a very nice old lady with very good manners, why are we hating on her? I mean, I thought I was great at picking up social ques? Honestly I would’ve asked the same way, sure she didn’t pick up on social ques but she was very nice.

Speaking in a soft voice doesn’t make a person polite. She was digging through the cards that were clearly being bought by another person. Rummaging through them, and asking to cherry pick a few, was in no way _polite_

This happened to me multiple times in thrift stores. One lady even harassed me and grabbed a stack of comics out of my hands. It’s always some sketchy woman. Did you notice the part where she shuffled the cards against the pavement? She’s only interested in those cards because she saw that you were

So I don’t pick or anything but I’m assuming a general rule of thumb is once someone puts something in their pile don’t go and look at what they have or ask to take it 😅

Man all I see on KZbin is ppl finding INSANE deals at garage/yard sales! I never find cards and when I do it’s junk wax baseball era and somehow actually always over comps. Those Earnhardt inserts can be pretty expensive and that one Kobe card was probably worth more than you paid for the lot. Nice find

I think she knew cards are hot right now but didn't know much besides big player names. Looked like she was sorting through mostly bulk. Then when you took anything she flocked over and tried to vulture it because she saw that you knew what you were doing. Reselling isn't for everyone, you were just better

I've been collecting cards my entire life since I was probably like 6 years old and I'm 29 and I am going to say right now by far this is the best come up ever the fact that you got all those other boxes of cars for the most part 70 bucks even though you paid $100 blows my mind considering the hall you got not only am I jealous over here watching this but that is insane that they let those cards go for even a quarter of that price I am just amazed at the deal you got on these honestly and you got so many LeBron cards just saying that made me want to cry LOL

You kept your cool with that lady wow! I would not have had the patience you did !! I have had sales that people like that show up. Stays for quite awhile and never buy anything... 🤣

I personally would’ve just bought it all, especially since you know the guy. As soon as I saw a Lebron rookie in there I would’ve told him I’ll take everything and take my chances, why not?🤷🏽♂️ The thing that impresses me the most about you though, is how damn patient and courteous you are, especially in a cut throat environment like yard sales lol

Yep, see that all the time here in Florida. Those people are like sharks, always circling and eying both you and the merch. I once had to race an old lady to a stack of Gamecube games, and I barely made it there first. Like, literally running. It literally just happened to me last weekend when a guy jacked my sale. I was finalizing the price with a seller on a pile of games when this guy butts in, literally starts plucking Pokemon games from my pile and shouting higher prices at the seller.

Sports cars: Even with a bow on it or hard case its still junk wax ! Hint: shiny or old doesn't mean $ $ $ especially anything after the mid 80's .........and of course condition is a huge factor ! Looks like you pulled out some great stuff 🙂👍...in fact stuff you very rarely see at yard sales for super cheap prices 😉

She left her area when you were starting to go through cards when you got there... she 'left her pile' on the table with everything to see what you were doing, then started going through your saved pile... good idea to put it in the van! Sheesh grandma!

There was a $300 Dale Earnhardt card in the Nascar box. I would have paid $2-3,000. There was probably a good $15-20,000 in cards just in the open boxes. The unopened cards could potentially be even more.
