I have symptoms of both lean and rich Uneven acceleration & bogs - rich Surging at 1/4 throttle - lean Runs better cold - rich Backfires as loud as a rifle - lean Spark plug a little black but looks normal No smoke A little bit of soot in the valves Carburetor has the slide needle dropped all the way down I’ve been chasing these symptoms for 9 months now and haven’t found the issue Did a carb clean, replaced the petcock, new air filter, spark plug, the motor is hardly broken into. 3,900kms, so the jets in the carb are brand new and clean. The motor is in time as well I took it to a few mechanics and they don’t even know what’s wrong

Are those symptoms present at all throttle positions? I'd be curious if you are lean or rich at idle or low throttle, and the opposite as you near full throttle. If that's the case, you could have a pilot jet issue causing your low throttle issues and a main jet or needle causing the opposite issues as you increase throttle

I have 2007 Crysler Aspen 5.7 misfireing no 1 cylinder obd: Code P0301, there is black carbon on the sparkplugs , put in new plugs shows the same on plugs, then another code: P0300 all misfireing cylinders cleard the codes, then tried it again to start vehicle showed only 1 code P0301 again , it looks to me it wont fire on the sparkplugs because of carbon build up, in the cylinder whole of sparkplugs, , could it possiably be Fuel ratio mixture problem , maybe new fuel injectors or some kind of adjust meant to the throttle body , not sure what to do at this point, i did remove intake manifold replace mds Solenoids , they were burnt up , so i replaced them , never did replace fuel injectors yet, just looking for some kind of help identifying the issues, what can Be done to reolve the issues, I appreciate what comments can reply for the issues, Ty.

Thanks for this wonderful video. I have a 2-stroke 250 cc bike . I put in a new carb and I am facing problem starting the bike most of the time. And once started, It has a very jerky/ uneven response during the low speeds but at higher speeds it feels very crisp and perfect. One more thing, if I fail to get the bike started, I block the air intake (by removing the pipe and putting my hand), the bike almost starts instantly ! Am I running too lean a mix or could it be an issue with the idle jet size?

I’ve got a 90’ rm250 and couldn’t get it to start at 6000’ ft elevation. Went back to stock jetting and fired right up running 40:1 ratio. Just switched to 32:1 ratio and it ran like crap. Going back to 40:1 to see if it runs good again, if not moving to reed replacement or further replacements.

Lol i have a little of both on my middle child of moderm automotive ca legal (from factory) 95 gmc 5.0 with aluminum headers 3" exhaust and cat delete and big ol 33s eith 12.5 surface areas and with my initial timing at 4btdc she bucks like a bronco spputters at a tiny little spot in the throttle around 3/16 if im tryingg to hold steady and looses a bit of grab around 3 grand, time to bite the bullet and learn chip tuning lmao

How does ethanol affect ECM/PCM fuel trim calculations? Does it require the same 14.7:1 ratio calculations or some other ratio? If so does the ECM/PCM sense whether the fuel is ethanol or gasoline and use a different ratio for ethanol? If the ECM/PCM assume gasoline is used and does not adjust for the use of ethanol what is the impact on air/fuel calculations and fuel trim outputs? How does this affect scanner outputs, rich, lean, etc.? Is there a YT video that addresses these questions? Bottomline: How does the ECM/PCM adjust for these two different fuel types with different optimum air/fuel ratios, or does it not, and what are the impacts on scanner readings and diagnosis? Again, is there a YT video that addresses these questions?
