India is far better in terms of facilities ,food etc. You can avail all facilities here if you have good income while its not the same with Canada. What kind of Quality of life people talk about if they cant take care of health of People . Health is Wealth ..without which nothing one can enjoy

You said it yourself. India is far better if you have good income. But again, millions and millions of Indians don’t have good income to afford private hospitals and public ones are just dilapidated. There’s no emergency health service for millions in India and you have helicopters and ambulances come at your door with a single call in Canada. Canadian hospitals are world class with stunning architecture. Waiting time issues are largely because of high demand due to immigration. Canada has announced $196 billions in funding for healthcare. Trust me, you’ll taken care of here for free if your condition is urgent. The rest is free too.

Just because of the Healthcare system I am considering moving back to US or India. The reason I came to Canada was as I moved from US to India but later came to Canada for passport. I went to US last month to visit few family members and friends. I had sudden sharp, abdonimal pain. I rushed to walk in center in US. The entire process of meeting doctor, taking x rays and discussion x ray took less than 1.5 hours. Next day I had a CT scan and on third day met doctor. Was given medicine and felt better. I always take visitor health insurance and the whole proceess costed me 250 USD. I was so thankful I was visiting US otherwise IN Canada it would take me months to get xray and CT scan done. I lived in US earlier and had surgeries in US before and if you have good insurance, US Healthcare is the best. Some of my friends moved back to US, some after getting Canadian citizenship and some without it (abandoned Canadian PR). As per them, living in US on employment visa for whole life is better than being in Canada on PR/citizenship. Somehow after seeing terrible Healthcare, mortgsge, broken roads, low salaries, depressing weather, I have started to think across the same lines.

so true man, the wait game is really frustrating. but I also want to point out that after a long wait when you're getting the service, it is top notch and if you have life threatening situation or if an infant is involved, you get taken care right away. my son was admitted to NICU on a second day after his birth, all of his tests were done on the spot and he had his surgery done within a month and everything was covered under provincial health care plan

I’m Indian, I live in Canada, I can promise you Canada’s healthcare system is way way way ahead. Hospitals here are clean and have stunning architecture. Healthcare is free and universal. Millions and millions of Indians can’t afford private hospitals in India. Public hospitals are unsanitary and lack any working infrastructure. Are you in a remote area in Canada and need emergency healthcare? Sure, a helicopter will come pick you up.

Walk in clinic are not walk in , we need to make appointment but the clinics are empty, not a single person in it , Doctors forgot how noble their JOB is. I'm so, so, sad and I fill hopeless and this is CANADA . . . . . . . .shame !

All life-threatening conditions are treated immediately. Most of the issues are due to high immigration and demand so a lot of Canadians are actually turning negative towards immigration. Private insurance is just an extension of government insurance. Usually government insurance is required to buy private….it doesn’t matter if you have public or private, it depends on the condition…the rest of issues are due to shortage of nurses and doctors, which is not unique to Canada and many developed countries are facing that situation….most of the Canadians also get insurance through employers so it’s common to have someone with government, employer, and private insurance all together.

Hi Parul, I think you are not sharing the latest information. If you have a family doctor here in canada, the wait time would be max 1 hr. I had my blood tests done next day. ERs have wait time but it is not 10hrs. I went to ER recently. They did my blood test instantly. ECG and ultrasound was done next morning and reports were shared to doctors immediately. It was a severe stomach pain nothing serious. I would prefer not to have medicines without any issues. In India doctors will give you 10 medicines.

Each province operates its own health care system. Also, it depends on factors such as size of city (population) and near big city or not (geographical location). There is no Canada-wide health care system.

Rest assure, I’m an Indian working in Canadian healthcare system, Canada’s healthcare system is extremely organized and developed, hospitals are very well maintained and clean and a lot of them are architecturally stunning and world class with latest technologies…like Vaughan Cortelluci Hospital, Peter Gilligan in Mississauga under construction, The Ottawa Hospital New Campus in Ottawa, search google images…dozens of hospitals are under construction across the country….Canada announced $196 billion in funding for healthcare….trust me, Indians love to find flaws in everything, but Canada’s healthcare system is way way way ahead
