Thanks for sharing this info, SMDC projects are good investments as most of there project are integrated to malls, leisure & offices. The only downside are the sizes of the units that they are selling. but i'll be honest i trully love the amenities, prime location & the convenience that they offer on there tenants, owners & investors. They also offer a leasing service for your unit while you are away from the country. Trully it's a good investment👍

What's nice living near Manila Bay, in the near future or a decade there will be reclamation projects means more development. New Manila Horizon, SM Reclamation project, etc

Used to live in Shore residences, that 1br/studio unit was priced 38k/month then(2019). Albeit overpriced, I thought it was a great location because it’s near commercial areas, malls, casinos, but not as bustling as the other places I’ve lived in the metro. The bay’s a good spot to relax or jog. You could check Solemare Parksuites too, they have nice outdoor amenities. Units are a tad bit dated. But, rent is reasonable from what I can remember. After moving to BGC though, I would sometimes still miss how easy it was to go to the bay for my morning/sunset walks, and how relatively bigger the amenities are in Aseana condos. But if you want a more liveable space, walkable neighborhood, your best bet still is BGC.

Would you say this area is a nice place to live? I'm looking at buying a condo near MOA and plan to use it for a few months every year. It will be a base for work and holiday since I can remote work. The idea of having MOA (shops and restaurants) at my doorstep as well as the bay is what appealed to me, but if you have other areas I should consider please let me know. I'd be grateful for any additional information since I'm unfamiliar with Manila. Thanks

Pasay isn’t necessarily a “cool” place. Sure they have MOA, and some tourist attractions, but it’s like saying you’re from Long Island or Jersey, than saying you’re from Manhattan.

I stayed at Sea Residences for a month and that was really super. I love the neighborhood that all those little restaurants. Also if you want to extra's like a print-copy shop, snack store etc. The most i liked the internet. Super fast! I'm from the Netherlands so i like my internet fast. Put my Fire TV Stick in the tv and i can watch all the channels i need. Shore looks also very nice!

Very useful comment! I'm looking at condos near MOA and need fast internet since I remote work. Good to know this won't be an issue. Is it easy to set up and is there a monthly contract option since I will only be there for 3 months?

The prpblem of condominiums of SMDC is that units are small. I feel like they are trying to emulate Japan. The areas where there are trees I am pretty sure they will cut it in the future.

Problem with Pasay is... the neighbors. Most Pasay condo's don't limit number of occupants. You've got 4-6 POGO expat workers crammed into sub 40-sqm units. Pre-pandemic, (rent) pricing in Pasay was actually MORE than BGC on a per/sqm basis. There is just an extreme demand of housing for expat POGO workers.

SMDC developer has the smallest bedrooms, I will not even call it a BR because the walls between the BR and living room/kitchen have no privacy at all. I have seen their 2 bedroom apartments and the rooms were as big as the bed, no privacy at all between those 2 BRs and living room/ kitchen. I do not know what SM company is thinking but yes SMDC development by the bay is close to NAIA, Rizal park, Manila Bay, US embassy, Manila zoo, city of Manila itself, MOA, so many places that you can go and jog in the morning. Many Chinese expats there though. There are other developers though in Pasay city.

I am looking for a place as a starting point to explore Manila, BGC, Eastwood and Rockwell for a more permanent place to permanently move to the Philippines. how does it compare to sea residences? which looks like they are not far from shore residences.

Hey, I have a place available for renting long term at Sea residences, fully furnished and is on 10th floor if you're still looking for one. I can say Sea residences is cheaper than Shore residences because Shore residences is a newer condominium complex (that is still currently in development) with more amenities such as restaurants, starbucks and alikes more. So if you're looking for cheaper rental prices with the same fair amount of amenities available around the complex, definitely choose Sea residences. The location you mentioned is spot on although the main difference is, Sea residences is much closer and much accessible to the Mall of Asia and iKEA's compared to Shore residences' location; as it is only a 5 minute walk from the complex especially if you need something to buy urgently or if you're the type to like a quick stroll around the mall in the mornings or anytime of the day, really. Nice place but the problem is there are too many tenants staying in one floor. About 65 units in one floor omg. While in higher end condos only 14 units in one floor so peace and quiet.

Way overpriced IMO, You could live in BGC in a good building for a couple of thousand pesos more with 10 m² additional. But I definitely love these vlogs showing all of the options in metro Manila. I would 100% rent the other one and try to get them down to 15K and buy some furniture.
