When we looked for an apartment to rent, we were also wondering if we should lie or be honest about being a gay couple as we were afraid we wouldn't get the place. It sucks that your neighbors can completely ruin the place for you. Even now that we own a condo, we're still afraid each time new neighbors move in because they can change your living experience overnight. Hey Pascal!! Missed you and Bryan lots!! Again I'm so sorry for what you guys had to go through. First, you shouldn't be afraid to show affection in public, I mean people are gonna judge, but who cares what they think? You guys are in love and that's all that matters. Being a black Christian straight woman, I absolutely truly support the LGBTQ+ community and so does my mom. If I saw you guys for real, I would be happy to be y'all best friend for life and be like a family to you guys. So don't be afraid to be yourself around people, you'll have those who love you for who you are and some who may not, but the important thing is that you are beautiful inside and out because that's how God created all of us. Second, there's nothing wrong with having fun, especially if you're living in an apartment. I do find this embarrassing to talk about, but I'll say it anyway. After my mom and I got evicted from our old place because our landlord was an ass, we didn't have nowhere to go. From my granddad's house to hotels and to living in our car for 7 months, it was awful!!! But the Lord answered our prayers and that we got a brand new place, we are so truly blessed and grateful. I'm glad that you guys are doing OK after all that happened. I pray for you guys everyday, well I pray for everybody. We live in a senior and disabled complex so at first i was a bit concerned, but we have been very lucky to date. Our management has been extremely supportive as well. My husband and I have been together for 19 years and luckily we’ve never had to deal with anything like that. I had a horrible downstairs neighbor 40+ years ago who constantly complained and also banged on her ceiling. However when addressing with her would always deny it and put blame on the folks on the shared wall. Not only was she aggressive but was ashamed of herself for being difficult. I only had one such experience - I was looking for an apartment where the landlord was the father of someone I knew. He was excited to rent the apartment to me, and all seemed to be in place. But my acquaintance told his father I'm gay (not expecting that to be a problem) and the father then decided not to rent the apartment to me (because he said I would be a bad influence since other tenants had children). My acquaintance was mortified, but I felt like I dodged a bullet and found a good apartment elsewhere. I'm glad to have my own house now!

I am so sorry that you and Bryan had to endure such Homophobic hate, mental anguish, and had to put up with those awful neighbors for close to five years for both of you are to nice of a couple to go through anything like what you had to go through. I am so happy that the both of you were able to break your lease and find a house to live in so as the both of you do not have put up with anymore Homophobic tenants or neighbors. I turned 59 years old this May and I do remember how bad the Homophobic hate ( I lived in the more conservative part of the San Francisco Bay Area and I still live there today) was toward our community 30 to 40 years ago. I graduated from Pacific ( at that time it was a 3 year high school and not a 4 year high school) High School in June 1980 and for the 3 years (1977 to 1980) I was a student the yearly student population was about 800 to 900 students. This how bad it was then in 1977. if anybody suspected that another student was gay or even bi-sexual, that student was physically beaten up and attacked, harassed, called names, ostracized, lost all of his friends, and was forced to leave Pacific High school to find another high school to attend. For the three years while I was a student, there were 4 incidents where 4 of my fellow students were suspected to be gay and they were all physically attacked (I was not a witness to the beatings but I did hear of them after they occured ) and one of them had to spend over a month in the hospital to recover. What made those 4 Homophobic hate crimes even worse , is the Principal, the Vice Principal, and the Dean did not to anything to help these 4 students and all 4 of them had to leave the school for their safety and all four of them had to transfer to a new high school some 40 to 50 miles away. Except for the city of (In the Early 1970's, The Castro District in San Francisco was the birth place of the Gay Rights and LGBTQ Movement for California and the USA West Coast and Fire Island in New York was the birthplace for Gay Rights movement for the USA East Coast) San Francisco, that is the way it was for our community within the San Francisco Bay Area. I could be very brutal living as a gay man or lesbian woman in this area 40 to 45 years ago. It was those 4 incidents and many other Homophobic hate crimes that happened over 30 to 45 years ago that still shapes my thinking today for I am very cautious because I still think that I could become a victim of Homophobic hate crime or a Homophobic slur. But I also have to remind everybody that I did not come to full terms of my sexuality and that I did not accept myself as being gay until March 2019 after a 50 year plus struggle. Now I can say that I so proud that am gay and that I belong to our wonderful, diverse, and loving, and exceptional LGBTQ community, and proud to say that God made this way as well. Your are right in saying that our situation has vastly improved over the last 20 years, but our LGBTQ community has still some distance to travel before our community has total equality to the heterosexual world, and we are going to get the equality and safety our community deserves very soon. Again I am so sorry that the both of you had to though such a tough almost 5 years with "B" and 'S' as your neighbors. You choose the right letters to name those 2 former neighbors of yours because they are truly BS which means to that they are both made out of "BULL SHIT" !!! I do want to apologize for all of who are offended by my bad language for this is the first time that I have used vulgar swear words in a comment since I started my commenting on video VLOGS in February 2019 but I feel it needed to be said. I so happy that the both are are living in a house and feel safe. I will also say a prayer that the both of you and both your families stay safe, well, and healthy while this Pandemic lasts. Even if you are blacked out drunk, you can be held responsible for your actions. They clearly were suffering from mental illness as well. I had no idea you were both suffering in silence, the landlord should have been more proactive with your complaints. I am sure you are both wonderful neighbors, I doubt you were at fault, they were just terrible people. I can not believe he was directing his tirades at a 2 year old baby. Wow, that's a lot of crap to deal with. Why is it always the kindest people that get treated the worst? It's been about four years since I've gotten myself into watching the society, really observing what's going on, what's the majority's opinions and trends and all that. So I'm very aware of discrimination and what's wrong with the world. Unfortunately, I live in a pretty conservative household. Even though my parents are good people they have some very bad ideas instilled in their heads. And I'm just like you, Pascal, I avoid confrontation at all costs. Which is why I'll never be able to come out to my family. Just this morning I found an issue of my parents' favourite magazine. Let's just say the cover was so insulting to literally every minority I wanted to cry. Things like these make me desperately want to become an activist or a teacher to fight the hate in the world. But it's been years since I've had faith in humanity... I honestly cannot understand how people don't realise they're being bigots. Even though it's been only a couple of years since I've realised I wasn't straight, I've always felt the fear of living in society cause I was female. To this day, I wonder what does it feel like, living the privileged, straight white male life. Being oppressed and afraid is such an integral part of who I am and I really hope I could get the majority to understand that fear. Wow, this got out of hand. very sorry to hear that you had to go through that it is so wrong that I don't even have the proper words to express my disgust with those people I am very glad though that the landlord evicted them because they deserved it. I'm very glad that you guys have a house of your own now where you can be comfortable and feel happy to come home there's nothing like the feeling of home and I'm really glad that everything's worked out in that matter for you. I inherited my family home when my parents passed away, and for a long while I was really afraid I was going to lose it as I'm now disabled and I had no income coming in and was afraid that I was going to lose the house but now finally my disability has been approved and I am now going to start receiving an income every month so I'm happy that I'm able to keep my home although I will say I have a trump supporter who lives opposite my house across the street I mean they're not even directly across from me they're opposite across from me and recently I have been noticing that not only do they point to my house and everything but the other night I just happened to be walking into my living room and I see the woman not only standing at the bottom of my driveway but she's in the grass to the side of my driveway or my mother has a garden and she's looking up my driveway and as soon as she sees me standing there looking at her she steps back behind the bush and then walks back across the street up into her driveway and into her house and I'm like WTF? And I know they both give me dirty looks when I'm out mowing the lawn I mean they pretty well figured out that yeah I'm gay and before when I first moved back into my parents home they pretty much ignoring me but now that it's become obvious that yeah I am a homosexual every time I'm out in my yard I see him glancing over and pointing at my house then I have her over in my yard behind my bushes looking at my driveway I like what so I can understand how uncomfortable you were with those ignorant homophobic morons who are giving you trouble at your old apartment just really happy that things have worked out and you have a home of your own now.

My partner and I have been together for 17 years and yeah we had nightmare neighbours once too. Homophobic and crazy. Same thing they were horrendous. Also gay couple here in Vancouver. Been blessed since but yeah we lived above jerks... concrete is the answer lol. They broke our large planters we installed to green the place... anyways that was a decade ago now. Any tenant would find living under tenants who do not have their floors ccarpeted to be a real problem. It would be constant noise constant,, almost 24 hours a day. Even when I have lived in a multi-level home of my own, I put carpets on the top floor. Another terrible problem in old housing, uncarpeted and lightly insulated homes is the radio and electronic noise of others. Things to think about if you ever have tenants in your building again. And finally, miserable peopple do not like anything interrupting their misery.

When I move to NYC at the age of 18 I didn't experience situations or problems with no one... well except for my " father ". He was rude, evil, nasty and never apologized with me for so many years that he never did anything for my Mom when he abandoned me and my others brothers and my sister when we need him. Then I move out from his apartment, found a job and start my own life. Never have problems with any tenants. All my past landlords are gays except for a lady who rent me the house that I living right now. I have a basic rule that I learn in NYC . " don't mess with me, I don't mess with you ". All my friends and family knows that I'm gay and those who don't accept me for who I am not for what I'm is not my problem and don't care. I'm in my 50s now and I don't take bu=*s%£¥ from no body. How terrible that you had to endure that. Your home should be the place you feel safe, not fill you with anxiety. I guess I've been lucky. I've always lived in big cities, so I'd usually find an apartment in a gay complex, or a complex where the manager was gay. Even when my late partner and I bought a condo, the complex was small and the other residents were either elderly widows or gay or lesbian. :) I bought a house 20 years ago and all the neighbors are extremely nice. I've never heard a bad word from them or had any bad experiences with them. I remember you talking about the place you moved to a while back. I believe it was a house, but is there another unit in the building also?

I am now living in seattle Washington big ol gay state but sometimes a lot of people still have problems with LGBTQ but I'll always do my best to stand tall ESPECIALLY after talking to my mother since moving here and her openly refusing to acknowledge my trans boyfriend and the fact that I'm part of LGBTQ. Those kinda people just urke me but I'd also do whatever it takes to protect my boyfriend 🖤 I'm really sorry you guys had to deal with any of that crap.

Pascal and Brian, Believe me, you are not alone. I'm over seventy years old so plug yourself into that situation! I have TONS of stories, here's a good one: I had been in vacation for a week in Florida and came home to find a notice on my door from my next door neighbors. I had the end unit of a row of three bedroom townhouses. Each dividing wall between units was 8" concrete block. I had lived there for 12 years with relatively no problems, the few I had were over parking issues. The note was a really, really nasty letter complaining about "noise" to the point they couldn't sleep at night. They had only moved into the apartment a couple months before and seemed a bit "offish" from the beginning. Apparently during the second month they had surmised I was gay. They had told their friends who also lived in the complex they were going to "get me out of there!" They said that from day one it was just constant noise but they finally reached their "boiling point" the previous week. Apparently no one told them that the owner of the complex was a friend of mine and I had, in fact, been the first tennant on the property. I called the property manager and told her what had transpired, which she had found amusing since she was the one that stopped by twice a day to feed my two cats! She was the only one who had been in the apartment for about 20 minutes each day for the previous 10 days! She asked me to photocopy the letter (which they had kindly signed and dated) and give her a copy and mailing one to the corporate office explaining that no one had even been in the unit for ten days and they had never contacted me before about anything! One week later they had received a notice to vacate and a week after that they were gone! Apparently our laws are a bit more flexible . . . LOL. Pascal you are looking so much better and healthier. Your old neighbors were just drunks and assholes and they would have treated a straight couple in exactly the same way they treated you. The only difference would have been that they would have chosen different insults for a straight couple. Anyway, I'm thrilled for y'all that you get to live in a house of your own, and that's all that matters now.

When i was 25 a group of highschool kids unloaded bags of trash in my car, yelled out "f___got" and drove off. A pharmacy receipt was found in the trash. Name, address, phone number on receipt. I wont mention what i did for legal reasons. Long story short, him and his friends never f'd with again.

Your neighbors sound like pricks, like “can you walk more quietly?” BITCH PLEASE THAT DOESNT EVEN MAKE SENSE 😂 They also sound like alcoholics because of how many times they get drunk and smoke. You should have punched one of them -._-. Anyways, so glad you guys are ok now and away from those Hypocrites. Hope your new home is much better in terms of neighbors and maybe even home!

Brian my name ia Don Muir in Cambridge Ontario Canada it is against the law under the bill of rights to be forced out . Check the Bill of Rights. The reason i know all this is because i helped get the rights and freeds for all gay people and if anyone gives you a problem the law and they can go to jail.

We had already told the landlord when it started years before, but with no result - they would receive a message text "warning", and that's it ; it would calm down during the following days/weeks, but would start all over again everytime they'd get drunk.

@@PascalPlante then your landlord wasn't really interested in the quality of tenants just having the apt rented.. With documentation it would be that hard to evict them .. Would finding a new tenant be that difficult for him ? But I hope you are happier in your new place ..
