I had the amazing pleasure to view this in person. I remember holding my breath the whole time. I can probably close my eyes and see it all so vividly. I had goosebumps and chills running up and down my spine. I also attended Nagano 1998, and they performed it way better here than in Nagano.

@@gk891 Yes! I was very fortunate to get tickets. I also attended Nagano. The great performance of Anissina & Peizerat, I believe really set the mood in that building for this program. I don't think I've ever witness a team to move across the ice with so much power since Grishuk/Platov and Anissina/Peizerat.

@@icestan_dancefan7024 And this program really demonstrates what amazing power and glide they had, especially when you consider how many interesting positions they put themselves into yet they still maintained their power and glide through their incredible running edges. And while A&P weren't necessarily known for their power and glide, that aspect of their skating was very very underrated. While watching their compulsories at the 2002 Olympics live, I remember being amazed at how incredibly well they covered the ice. Their flow was excellent.

@@gk891 It was very upsetting to see A/P not get the credit they deserved from 1998 Worlds to 2002 Olympics. They were easily in the league of their own. How FP/M and K/O ever beat them is beyond me…

This program is my favourite FD from Grishuk and Platov and they both made such a great Ice dance team. Pasha is honestly one of the greatest female ice dancer of all time she was a firecracker lol.

I also love this free dance. It's amazing how they put themselves into all sorts of interesting and unusual positions (many of them low to the ice) yet they still maintain incredible strength of stroke and huge glide. It really demonstrates what incredible technical skaters they were.

Я смотрю и вспоминаю. Как я сидела и ликовала, торжество фигурного катания. До сих пор дрожь по телу. Феноменально, космические ребята. Умники, трудоголики. Обожаю их. Обаятельные!!!! Программу они все-таки немного упростили на олимпиаде. Видны помарки - но безусловно эта целая жизнь - думаю , что прошибет каждого.... Это гениально и как пронзительно, и как проникновенно!!! - до сих пор ни кем не побитый танец. ДА_ААА , это говорит уровень ТАТ - ее интервью о том, как она и ее друзья искали музыку и надо было сделать золотой come back этой пары - ну сильно и мощно. Спасибо за талант!!!

They were really 'on' in this free dance. Interestingly so too because they did not look very 'on' during the compulsory dance at this competition (they did the silver samba) and the OD where they fell. But they were magnificent in this free dance.

@@timothyhh I can understand the 6.0s. The content of this free dance was incredible as they were constantly gliding over fast yet very quiet running edges, carving out huge patterns on the ice, extending their free legs in synch with one another and everything was done with very little set-up time. In fact, Platov once said that he does not look back at this free dance fondly because of all the work that went into it.

@@gk891 I totally agree that this dance was incredibly difficult. Actually I've always been amazed at how Platov managed it with his bad knees. I guess my problem is that it was visible that they were really working this one every performance instead of previous years when they made the incredible difficulty look easy. In their defense this dance is a lot different than anything they ever tried before, even The Feeling Begins. I don't remember them doing as many low to the ice moves as before. This dance seemed to work in a vertical up-down plane in addition to the usual horizontal side-to-side plane. I'm not explaining what I mean to well I don't think. Anyway, I think a lot of skating fans didn't like them, mostly because they beat their faves, but I always like G&P and I'll defend that damn 1996 free dance to the last.

Лучшее исполнение этого шедевра. В том сезоне финал Гран При проходил в Мюнхене. Оксана и Женя тут уже бывали.В 1991 году на чемпионате мира они были четвертыми. В 1997 году накануне олимпийского 1998 г уже фаворитами сезона. У Тарасовой всегда получалось лучше всех ставить драмы. Ей ехидно после "Кармен" Бестемьяновой-Букина замечали,а давайте зрителям на трибунах выдавать либрето Ваших программ. Они не поймут. Странно,что глупенькая Оксана полезла в Голливуд. Там её явно не ждали. Прошли годы,а шедевр остался. Раньше в сторону русских звезд шли комплименты,а после февраля 2022 г одна не любовь,а почти ненависть. Пройдут десятилетия прежде чем русские фигуристы вернут себе утраченные позиции. А вот как скоро это будет не знает никто.
