The steel version got a like... the no-weld version got a sub. So very cool and much more attainable for the average DIYer! I will build this once I have a table to attach it to.

I've looked at several quick release mechanism by other you tubers and I have come to a conclusion your plywood version is simple and probably easiest to build. I will be ordering your plans soon as I can get out of the house (corona virus ) to buy some supplies. I would love to b of better support but I have to join with the low ball as I'm on a limited income. Sorry but 12$ a year is best I can do right now. I Wii join soon as I get help from my son. BTW I love your photos.

Jeremy Specce - I seem to recall his name being "Dodger," but I certainly get where you're going with that! I was going to "accuse" Neil with dipping the "Rusty" end of the screw in peanut butter to keep Dodge occupied during the shoot... those working dog/varmitter breeds can be a bit ADD if they don't have a job to do... 😆

This is ingenious! Kudos for such an amazing design! I feel like a dummy for not understanding this (and I did watch the other 2 videos but I was confused by this as I watched those, too), but what, exactly, is the magnet doing? And by the way, thanks for re-doing this in wood for all of us non-welders! One suggestion: a couple bench dogs in the top of that outer jaw (might have to make it thicker) and some dog holes in the benchtop would expand the utility of the vise.

Thanks very much for making the plywood version! Now I don’t have an excuse not to make your cleaver quick release vise! Charging for the plans isn’t so bad as long as the price is decent. Because it does look like a great vise! I hope the plans include both the welding and non welding versions in one set of the paid plans? Dutch may need a tetanus shot. He seems to enjoy licking rust - haha.
@PaskMakes
@PaskMakes 6 жыл бұрын
No worries! The plans don't include the steel version as I wasn't sure how to show them to make it easy. There are others who have made the steel version from watching the video and I think that's the best way - just go through each process and make sure each one works before going onto the next step. :)
