Matt, I recommended your videos to a team physician for Michigan State University's football team because he told me that, in his practice, he also sees old patients with musculoskeletal problems. I told him how much you have helped me.

I sometimes practice a move involving the hook pointing forward (my cane has a flattish top, and hook-forward is comfortable and steady). I lift the cane while shifting my hand slightly down onto the shaft, and punch with the hook as if it was a brass knuckle. A clawing motion is also practical. I figure since I have a good strong jab, I might as well take advantage of it.

Thank you again! I was thinking of these things recently. We have a Congressional candidate forum soon, and I don't think that I'll carry a pistol there. People could be crowded somewhat closely, and I might not be able to use the long thrust to maintain distance. Having techniques for dealing with someone nearby who becomes aggressive is good.

This was very useful information. But even better would be in reference to close quarters like public transit where your in a isle of a bus or train with people all around. I use one 6 foot Oak Bo staff with grip tape on half of it and rubber end caps for the ends. for like a DIY tracking pole. It’s great for the hills out here in California and stair cases. I have the center marked so I know where to choke down to. I only have use of one arm and 3 feet of pole left out of both sides of my grip. This is my everyday cane or staff. Please create more videos showing self defense with a Bo staff within surrounded environments. Thank you for you interest in making cane videos. I am a subscriber to your youtube channel.

I use a leki trekking pole set short like a cane and I removed the basket and rubber tip. It is carbon fiber so I don't think it has the weight for striking but that things point should be great for thrust.

What do you think about "port arms" with 2 hands on the stick, left hand top, right toward the butt, weapons retention, to the right side of the body, "point" toward the adversary?

I like that James! I got your package. Thank you!

Do I take first strike advantage? And how do I read a threat? Or do I let them attack me first.
@pasquinilli Жыл бұрын
When you know the attack is imminent, I say go first. For self defense.
