"Passacaglia" by Handel Halvorsen 🎹

I felt thankful for the rain when I was recording this piano piece. The area I live in has not had rain for months this Summer, and the drought contingency plan is in place at the moment. In the hope of recreating the rain sounds I heard as I played this classical piece, I added the gentle rain sounds in the background to this video. Enjoy! ☔️🌧

Hello, I fell in love with this piece a short while ago and decided to try playing it. I fight every day to try and speed up the tempo even though I always like to play slowly and with emotion. Now that I watched your performance, I realized that emotion is much more important than speed in this piece, and you helped me stop fighting speed. I have just listened to another version of this piece and I prefer your version as it is fractionally slower in tempo, a warmer piano tone and a more balanced piano sound, softer left hand arpeggios, and more distinct phrasing, all made for an enjoyable rendition.
