BABYMETAL is the only one that went fairly mainstream in Japan as it's backed by a pretty big company and so they invested more money to begin with... and when it went viral they dumped in a bunch of money and went with a real band full time while most groups can't do that. In Japan, Wack's "BiSH" is clearly in 2nd place- and in some sense has actually passed BABYMETAL since BABYMETAL's management tripped over itself so badly for so long. Wack is also a whole company so it has a bunch of different groups. PASSCODE is very likely 2nd in terms of one unit companies- and while formed after BABYMETAL, were formed before BABYMETAL got famous. codomomental's Zenbu Kimi no Sei is in the same general range and a couple of the big hitting recent units from other companies are more after that style. And after these there are probably dozens if not hundreds of groups in a similar style range. Globally.... react channels tend to go BABYMETAL ----> BAND-MAID And then they tossed LOVEBITES (metal band), SCANDAL (rock band) and BiSH.... and then PASSCODE and LADYBABY.... but most of this stuff just gets slightly touched on since they're beholden to views.
