He's always stomping, isn't he? :) His music is so pure and beautiful and his lyrics are all I want to say but can't express.

Watching people walk past in the background is crazy -- three years ago Mike was busking in Manchester, I couldn't help but stop what I was doing and listen. Three albums, two gigs later, he can still stop me in my tracks!

Before I saw this video or heard the story I interpreted the song differently. What I love about music is a song can mean something different to each person who hears it. To me the bullets and the chest of drawers were metaphors for challenges and hurts in life and how those things hurt our hearts, our souls. Even though they hurt sometimes it's easier to hold onto them than to let them go. Even though the man's scars from life's hurts were taken away, which sounds like healing, they were not given willingly, which is not healing. Sometimes being in the wounds is the most healing thing you can do. That's my interpretation and I'm sticking to it.

I love this song, it is my absolute favourite. I always thought the bullets were a metaphor for special memories that we hold onto and the idea that we are often robbed of these as we grow older. Interesting to hear that it is not a metaphor at all.

Might sound a bit silly, but there’s a similar story with a guy here on KZbin. He made lego videos for years and had invested hundreds and hundreds of hours into unique lego scenes/sculptures to the point of having a whole room dedicated to them. Then someone broke into his house, stole the majority of the pieces and smashed the rest. Its all documented on KZbin if you look it up. Sad stuff.

people making assumptions about the thieves but how easy would it be to make a song about how these men trying so long to find a job to pay for their mothers medical treatment after weeks of searching no one would hire them. afraid for their mothers well being and her worsening condition. they turn to theft, as they pull up towards a random house they see a older man who seems to have a quite comfy life.. 'he wouldn't miss these material objects' they think trying to justify their actions. they go inside new to the act they clumsy take anything they think may be valuable. they see a box hidden with shinny bullets inside. they think 'these must be valuable who would hid something that wasn't valuable'. as they they sell the stolen items they find the bullets are worthless.. realizing that they were wrong they return to the house to give back the bullets but the fear that the man would turn them in resulting in them getting imprisoned 'who would care for their mother' they head towards the woods knowing they have done a terrible act but what choice did they have.
@makingupthemakebelieve8 жыл бұрын
This story just makes you sound like a thief.
@MChannel58 жыл бұрын
These people were not just thieves. They were stupid and heartless thieves, hence probably not those you describe. Stupid because of stealing something of low to no material value without knowing how to sell it and heartless because of stealing collection.
@breaddboy8 жыл бұрын
+Marcel Jung I understand the song but my point is that there are two sides to the story And we only know half. Sure these people did a bad thing but perhaps they had reasons to do so. Not saying it's right to steal, all I'm saying is sometimes people feel they have too.
@MChannel58 жыл бұрын
Anyway, let's agree to disagree :D I think that stealing even a valuable collection full of gold would be heartless, even in the situation you describe. Not just bad but heartless and cruel. Collections mean everything to collectors. I remember reading an article once about a man who killed her wife, who, while angry, destroyed his Star Wars collection and while I do agree that it was inappropriate, I could understand him to some extent, as it is something like a horcrux for collectors (you know Harry Potter, right?) So, it is cruel, not just bad. And stupid, of course, if they did not know (at the top) where to sell it and if it has any value (and, if so, how big). So, these thieves were definitely not the last resort ones. So, stealing a TV or computer with very clear value yet, expectably, very low emotional value, could be in that case (badly but still) justified to some extent but collection hardly ever.
