On my last cruise a few months ago, there were people feeding the sea-gulls from their balconies. There were HUNDREDS of seagulls flying all around the one side of the ship. The cruise lines should also hold *"Common Sense* Etiquette Workshops" on embarkation day. LOL at NCL offering a Whooping 10% discount on future sailing to those passengers!! WOW! 10 *WHOLE* percent??? 😆

Glad that the Air Tag in her luggage found the thief! I guess I'll be purchasing a couple of those Air Tags. I am not a big fan of these cruise lines cancelling cruises for passengers booked so that they can privately charter to organizations, for more money too. RCCL did that on the weekend cruise on Allure prior to my April cruise. The passenger feeding Seagulls from her balcony is probably the same one feeding them at the beach in the middle of other beach goers! I see that and think "Holy Crap"! 😂

Good morning,Doug! Wow, the shear stupidity of that airport employee is unbelievable! I don’t believe that Grand Theft is the appropriate charge for this individual. It sounded like they were stolen before they ever hit the luggage carousels. I would hope that there would be a Federal Charge for that. I’m fine with the Bird Etiquette at boarding, just as long as it done at a bar!! Anyways, have a wonderful day and we’ll see you tomorrow!😎

I would be pissed getting my cruise canceled after I went through all the B.S. scheduling the vacation, flights, hotels, etc. Big whoopie 10% discount. You make these groups book a ship way in advance and not post the ship available for online booking.

Morning Doug, The luggage story is scary, unfortunately it happened in Miami airport also, film footage of baggage handlers and another incident of TSA , come the F on already. The issue about the birds I understand both sides, but you were on your balcony how did you feel humiliated? It wasn’t on the deck during the sail away party.

While we all know to not put valuables in checked luggage, in Scottsboro Alabama, the “Unclaimed Baggage Store” exists, because people do put valuables in their luggage. Everything from apple and Bose headphones and ear buds, to Rolexes, and gold necklaces. There is even a small museum of weird stuff, like a suit of armor, bagpipes, and a verified Michael Jordan signed basketball.

The luggage was found at a "retail worker's" home? He didn't act alone. He had to be working with someone who screens luggage and knew there were valuable items in there. Granted, it was foolish to have those things in checked luggage. But the bag wasn't taken randomly.

Good morning, The plus about the luggage story is that thieves who are obviously used to steal out of FLL have been caught. They knew their business. As for people feeding birds out of their balconies, a less messy activity might be a good idea. Furthermore feeding these birds anything can make them sick. Let Mother Nature deal with feeding them. Why is the compensation never equal to the inconvenience! Those passengers should be given full refund plus 100% cruise credit for future cruise. What about the cost of cancelling their flights? Cruise companies need to stop taking cruisers for granted!!

Also, don't put your home address on your checked baggage! The same kind of people will know your home address and that you are not home. I put two colorful and durable name tags with my cell phone number and my wife's on my bag. I can find it easier and can be contacted when I get home or to my destination. After I retired, I worked at a small airport for a major airline, it was shocking how much lost baggage arrived at my resort destination with a home phone number and address, duh, would love to get it to you... Also, if you bag does not arrive when you get off a plane, NEVER, leave the airport without making a claim with baggage services. Keep the little receipts you get when you check the bags. I usually stick them to the outside of my passport so I don't lose them. Besides the fact that lithium ion batteries are not allowed in checked baggage (electronic devices), why would someone put jewelry in checked luggage? I'm amazed this person was smart enough to track it down after all the earlier questionable decisions. Kudos.

Obviously, it's somewhere in all of the fine lawyer print of your cruise contract that everyone reads when they book their cruise and agree to. But this practice should be illegal. Canceling a cruise for 3k people just because you're offered a bigger profit is horrible PR. I do believe that's unforgivable...as a guest.

For many years most know not to Feed animals off ship, as they become accustom to. Mother nature will assist. Rule 1 all important items in carryon. I need luggage tag for android cell. I typically do carry-on & under seat. Great news day.

I guess I fail to see how someone's luggage getting stolen at the airport has anything to do with cruising, it has always been illegal to throw anything off the ship, anything would include bread.. Attracting gulls to the ship is not a wise thing, anyway..
