Did you run into any issues using that socket to tighten it all down? I tried getting mine off using the same setup with a T45 and wasn’t able to get it in far enough to even lock into place to remove.

I bought extended length torx bits.. figured they'd be usable elsewhere in the future. It is bizarre to me that these peg mounts are so asymmetrical right from the factory. Definitely an afterthought on their part.

Can’t find any torx sockets that fit inside the hole

Any suggestions on install in the upper bolt holes.Aftermarket exhaust stops the use of the lower and there is no dimple on the 2 upper holes.

I haven't used the upper bolt areas, however there are several M8 Lowrider groups on Facebook that most likely have that information.

I'm having trouble getting the stock pegs off my 2021 softail. That bolt seems insanely stuck with that lock tight... any tips??

Use a quality torx socket, and a long breaker bar .

I've had to use a pinpoint butane torch to heat up some bolts with tough thread locker on them. Go slow and keep checking or you can get stuff so hot that paint will bubble or even burn.

My Softail (Low Rider ST) has the brace for the saddle bag installed on the bottom hole (shift side). If I use the higher hole, the passengers legs won't be even. Do I remove the bolt holding the saddle bag brace and install the passenger mount over it?

If you havent done it there should be the identical hole above that hex. I had to use those due to my stealth exhaust

@@Cubeee If I use the hole above the hex on the shift side, the corresponding hole on the opposite/brake side is blocked by stock exhaust.

​@militaryminedid2011 ahh didnt know you were stock exhaust. I have the stealth turnout on my lowrider s. Juat put passenger pegs on and had to use the top holes cause the stealth blocks the bottom

Did you ever get this figured out? I’m dealing with the same issue now. I figured I would just mount the peg over that bracket for the bags.
