Finally this channel are actually talking about other teams

Pettersson was playing like this for at least a couple of weeks before he signed the new contract. His play right now has nothing to do with the playoffs. Management is obviously not concerned that this will be a long term thing otherwise they would have traded him to Carolina. It's 2-2 and we have home ice advantage. Let's see what happens tomorrow. :)

Note to players like Petterrsson and Marner: If you believe you're worth those contracts when you are negotiating, you better be able to show it when it matters. Otherwise, prepare to feel the wrath of your own fan base. Marner in particular seems to feel that we shouldn't care what star players are making compared to other team members. In a salary cap world, nothing could be further from the truth. Cap hits -- and thus relative worth -- are probably the most important stats in hockey. I hate it, but it's the Bettman NHL.

So...if Pettersson is a "passenger", what does that make: Marner, Matthews and Tavares?

Fully agree that Petey’s problem is that he is thinking about the playoffs TOO much. He keeps looking to make the right play or to find the right person on the ice (the pausing), without realising that HE is the right person. He’s got a rocket of a shot, and he’s just gotta just start shooting

The Oilers have been dominant in this series, maybe these guys should learn how to read stats.
@BahamutBreaker5 ай бұрын
Ok, I’ll challenge your statement. Looking at the 5v5 stats from the VAN/EDM series, to date, it is true that Edmonton has an advantage in xGF, HDSC, & Fenwick. However, it’s not a “dominant” advantage, at all. The (roughly) 55-to-45% advantage for Edmonton is better described as a “modest, but measurable” advantage at 5v5. There’s another important stat that more-or-less negates that modest advantage: Save Percentage. At 5v5, Vancouver’s save percentage is a very solid 92.3%. Meanwhile, Edmonton has a poor 87.3% save percentage. Maybe… you should learn how to read stats.

this Bunkis guy is right... this could go down as the worst contract ever, what a disaster. Mgmt should have waited till after the season before talking contract just like Pettersson wanted so they could witness this tragedy and offer him a bag of pucks. Like how can you get canuck fans excited to build on this season next year, knowing that Petey is going to be a complete no show in the playoffs? Yes he won that draw, but feel free to rip him, he deserves it.

He has been in the playoffs only 2 times, this is the 2nd. Too early to write him off. Next year will be decisive though.

I don't know Pettersson but took me 2 secs to see he was mentally out of it when camera caught him. Looks to me like a person with some sort of mental diagnosis or something? It's not natural to be that zoned out while in the most important moment.

Everybody disparages the bubble, as though the players weren't trying. I don't recall it looking like a walk in the park, and Pettersson did have 18 points in 17 games, made some brilliant plays. I don't believe that he's uncapable of playing under pressure, nor do I believe that he's not trying. There's something else going on here.

He was the SHL playoff MVP as a rookie.. and he was great in the bubble.There is nothing "scary" about Oilers playoff hockey. He absolutely is a big game player that can fight through physical play. There is something else going on with him where he goes into this zombie like mental state and just seems checked out. Its happened a couple of times now with him.

Kyper called in sick just because he had a 'tummy-ache' or a 'headache'? (That was his attitude toward Matthews and Nylander missing games, so it seems only fair to point that out.) What do you know? It turns out sometimes you actually *can* be too sick to go to work.

The hosts are trying to make the case that certain individual players don’t care about postseason games. C’mon, man. Sure, some players are hard-wired with a more competitive personality than others; that’s normal diversity of personalities among a group of humans. But suggesting that some individuals don’t care, at all? That’s hyperbole.
