Riding to New York reminds me of when the doctors told us our 5 year old would never reach 6 because of a Wilms tumor stage 3. Her one wish was to see the Grand Canyon. We had no money and they told us she was too sick to travel. We packed up the rattle trap( we called it a car) drove from Texas to the Grand Canyon. She's now 37. She said that the trip gave her the courage to fight. Thanks for the bittersweet memory.

When it was my birthday, I played this playlist. When my heart got broke, I played this playlist. When she left me in middle of nowhere, I played this playlist. When my friend left the bond we shared, I played this playlist. When I felt alone, I played this playlist. When I cried or laughed, I played this playlist. When my innerchild enjoyed with joy, I played this playlist. When I will again find someone meaningful, I'll play this playlist. When I'll be living the last few days of my life, I'll play this playlist. Always grateful to you, for putting your heart out and singing these beautiful songs. I'll keep these songs as a souvenir❤

Its sad in a way, that you'll probably never read this and that even if you do... you'll probably won't understand... I mean really understand how much your music mean to me... and to us all... and its sad in a way cause you're so humble about it... and I just wish that for one second you could feel it... how much you mean to us all... and that we are so happy that we have the chance to hear your music everyday. you know how when some artists release their albums, and the more and more popular it gets their music changes to meet the 'pop' music that is trending? what I love about Passenger is that you could listen to his previous albums like Wide Eyes Blind Love or All The Little Lights and Whispers and the music is still similar! He hasn't changed his music and style to meet the standards of todays pop music! This is what I love about it!! Great work Passenger, your music never ceases to amaze me...

I just can't believe I didn't find your music earlier. It literally plays my heart. When I listen your music, your lyrics, I feel a special connection with you, because I see the world the same way as you do. I have listened lots of interprets whose songs I loved, but my feelings from music have never been so strong... I find myself in your lyrics and in your guitar. I myself write poems and that's quite similar to writing song lyrics, but recently I just couldn't find the right words to express my feelings... I think your songs showed me the way how to find them. It's really big inspiration for me. Thank you for that. You're amazing. :)

With long, grey hair and eyes he stared through me like I was glass. I asked "Where are you going to?" He said, "I'm the wind, I'm just blowing through." He lit up a cigarette and began to talk: "See, the doctors told me that my body won't hold me, my lungs are turning black. Been a lucky strikes four since I was at school, and there ain't no turning back. They can't tell me how long I've got, maybe months but maybe not. So I'm taking this bike and riding to New York. Cause I wanna see my granddaughter one last time, wanna hold her close and feel her tiny heart beat next to mine. Wanna see my son and the man he's become, tell him I'm sorry for the things I've done, and I'd do it if I had to walk. Oh, I'm taking this bike and riding to New York Through the forests of Wisconsin that I knew as a boy, past the skyline of Chicago and the lakes of Illinois I lay my head in a motel bed where my back gets sore and my eyes turn red, and listen to the trucks roll past my door. Through the fields of Ohio as the sunshine paints them gold. I run like a river runs; rapid, quick and cold. Than fly through Pennsylvania and the Jersey turnpiked tolls, and I won't stop 'till I get to New York. Cause I wanna see my grandson one last time. I wanna see his eyes sparkling ans stare back into mine. Now my time is short, I wanna see my daughter, Tell her all the things that I should've taught her, and I'd do it if I had to walk. Oh, I'm taking this bike and riding to New York. And I'd go up to the churchyard one last time, lay flowers down for the woman who gave me the best years of my life, and I'd do it if I had to walk, I'd do it if I had to walk. I'm taking this bike and riding to New York. _____________________________________________ 37:00 Scare Away The Dark Well, sing, sing at the top of your voice, And love without fear in your heart Feel, feel like you still have a choice If we all light up we can scare away the dark We wish our weekdays away Spend our weekends in bed Drink ourselves stupid And work ourselves dead And all just because that's what mom and dad said we should do We should run through the forest We should swim in the streams We should laugh, we should cry, We should love, we should dream We should stare at the stars and not just the screens You should hear what I'm saying and know what it means To sing, sing at the top of your voice, And love without fear in your heart Feel, feel like you still have a choice If we all light up we can scare away the dark Well, we wish we were happier, thinner and fitter, We wish we weren't losers and liars and quitters We want something more not just nasty and bitter We want something real not just hash tags and Twitter It's the meaning of life and it's streamed live on KZbin But I bet Gangnam Style will still get more views And we're scared of drowning, flying and shooters But we're all slowly dying in front of computers So sing, sing at the top of your voice now, Oh love without fear in your heart Can you feel, feel like you still have a choice If we all light up we can scare away the dark And ooh, oooh, oooh ooh oh oh And ooh, oooh, oooh ooh oh oh Ooh, oooh, oooh ooh oh oh Sing it all now! I am obsessed with this music. As a Baby Boomer, I graduated High School in 76, and boy oh boy were those 70's fantastic. Don't regret anything. It has been a struggle to enjoy some of the "newer" music, and for whatever reason, I am just getting into this KZbin stuff. I found you yesterday, and I hear my generation through this music so much. The hope the dreams, sad and willowy, and upbeat. I was a Cat Stevens fan and still enjoy his older music for the most part. I hear a bit of Cat Stevens and others too. Your Voice is full of magic, love your guitar and your back up horns and violins, complex yet so fresh and free...wow I guess I could just go on and on, I can't wait to more, however, I will most likely listen to this over and over....and over..Like I said I am obsessed!

I remember hearing about the story of Bullets. There was an old man who, since his childhood, he collected bullets and had a lifetime of a bullet collection. One day his house was robbed, and the thieves thought the bullets in the man’s house were useable. They weren’t. They were old shell casings. They were his lifetime, with each bullet he collected having a story and memory. All of those stories and memories are gone. All he was left with were a few bullets. Truly tragic tale

I've purchased this album twice now, and it has been well worth it. First purchase was for my Dad as he introduced me to this guy. I thought I would be simply able to give it to him for his bday, and then sneakily take it from him as he doesn't really get into albums. However, my Mom had something to say about this plan as she also fell in love with the album, and since my new lap top doesn't have a cd drive, my usual rip/burn strategy was not an option. Next option, just buy the damn thing again, and like I said, well worth it.

'Everyone's filling me up with noise, I don't know what they're talking about. See all I need are WHISPERS in a world that only shouts" Gives me chills everytime. Love this song so much. The build up is incredible to listen to and even better to watch. Thanks Mike and team! Love y'all.

Everytime I listen to whispers, I try my best to have the lyrics with me. I want to ensure no single word passes me by; I want to feel the emotion of Michael: why is he so happy at a particular point? Why is he frustrated at another? Then why do I feel the same way? ITS JUST ALL RELATABLE AND TRUE. PASSENGER DESERVES SO MUCH RESPECT. MUSIC CANT BE SO GOOD YET SO REAL. If I were to write music, this is how exactly I would do it. AGELESS

Whispers has become not only my favourite Passenger album but my favourite album of all time. It's up there with the greatest hits of Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Don McLean and Leonard Cohen. None of those has an individual album I love as much as this. I suspect I'll still be listening to it in 20 years time. Right - back to the music!

The reason I love passengers music is because it gives me memories when my dad first played the little lights album to me and the music actually has meaning and emotion and it's raw

I am not feeling my best today and this is why I came back to listen to this. His voice, lyrics, and songs give me strength. In 2014 -2015, my most challenging year yet, this was therapeutic for me. 💯👍🏾

Every time I hear 'Riding to New York' I feel like a step into the shoes of the man in the song and kind of imagine how he would be feeling. It always puts such an emotional lump in my throat. So powerful.

...........Passenger says: "well... its hard to find a reason, when all you have is doubt" ive been listening to this song (Whispers) for a month. I really love your Music... its so good- its almost unreal with its consistency of novelty. Oh my God, this is too good. Thank You for not keeping it all in a dusty closet where good things are forgotten.

Hey bud, this is some of the most special music I've ever heard. I'm actually on my sister's comp.. my two beautiful nieces, sister and bro-in-law, all hung out today putting up the Christmas tree, we all listened to the whole album. I will tell you something; growing up with people in a small town(city)lol, which a number of them have been in bands.. I so wish I had someone around me like you, you'r music is so personal to me, it's hard to put into words. I can just drowned out into the music. I'ts actually very peaceful and soothing to a hardened road which a' many of us in the masses have had to go through. We all have a story, yet you can touch so many with what you do.. Keep it up bro.. J. Hall

Your songs are pure poetry. You’re a real word smith. Thank you for bring emotion back to a dark soul. After years of not being able to cope with the emotions music brings to me, you’re music and words have enabled me to start to open that part of myself again. I’ve even been thinking about starting to write my own poetry again. Wether a particular song makes me feel low or more upbeat, it makes me feel and that’s the magic you hold. I truly believe it’s this sort of thing that can save life’s. My deepest thanks an love to all.

I am gob smacked I thought that this was a pirated youtube stream very brave move giving the album free on youtube. I have to say that this is one of the best albums that I have listened too in a long time. I only started listening because I found 27 but then I thought it was American until I googled and wiki so nice to see a English/British lad doing well.

For some reason.....the day after the Paris attacks....this gorgeous gorgeous song holds even more meaning. This world could be...and should be.....such a better world. Listen to Passenger's music. Both his melodies ...and his words....add great credence to our need to be "better people". Let's just DO it ! now!!! We have already wasted far, far too much time. xoxo

I love how honest your music is. I've been addicted for a few years now, and all your lyrics are so true. Somehow you really know how to share a feeling or story with only your guitar and your voice. I get shivers every time i listen to riding to new york and i wanna dance every time i hear thunder. I love your music, you're amazing.

YOU BRING HEALING JUST THROUGH YOUR MUSIC NOT CARING ABOUT WHAT THIS LIFE TELL'S YOU TO DO! YOU LIVE AND LET THE WIND OF GOD BLOW YOU WHERE YOU SHOULD! YOUR SONG'S NOT JUST BREAK MY HEART BUT THEY WIPE AWAY ALL THE PAIN THAT HAS COME THROUGH THIS LIFE! LIFE DOSE NOT HAVE TO BE SO HARD! I TRY TO ASK MY DADDY STEP BY STEP AND SAY SORRY AT THE SAME TIME! NO ONE IS PERFECT SO JUST KEEP GOING JUST REMEMBER TO STOP AND LOOK AROUND WHEN IT SEEM'S 2 HARD AT WHY? GOD LOVE'S US ALL NOT JUST SOME! SO KEEP MOVING UP AND NOT BACK OR DOWN!
