Paramvir! you must travel south India to know India, the small banana you saw is the tastiest banana...and more expensive, than the normal big banana....the red banana is a delicacy, similarly Banana flower is another delicacy.....most of the vegitables are same as in south India......cinommon of Srilanka is veryfamous....I think it would be better spend few weeks in ...4 southern states...also in Orissa and Bengal to know India.

SriLankan Cinnamon is very best in Quality. Vegetable Prices increases due to Transportation cost as Petrol prices sour up. However the local producers and farmers still struggling for rates in Sri Lanka. Hope situations will improve soon.

For all those people who are saying it's cheap compared to India, no it's not. You need to divide the price by 2 (not 4.5) to know the real price in INR. Because their prices are as per the rate of 4.5 SL rupees/INR but their income is still as per 2 SL rupees/INR rate. It is looking cheap DUE TO CURRENCY DEPRECIATION. Income is the same or reduced but prices became high.

I honestly wish first world countries had this. The closest we have is farmers markets but it’s not that great sadly. I don’t know match about markets like this but I think it won’t so cool to buy from families and individuals and not big Chain store. At times I’m jealous of 2nd world countries but at times I’m not. Every government has perks and down sides. Sadly Americans gave up their power to big chain stores in order to have an easier life. I think us giving up or ability to govern ourselves and just accepted these big chains and stuff we’ll be our down side. If a economic collapse came here most Americans are unable to survive because we have no idea how to work with what the little nature that grows around us. I’ve been pushing myself to learn how to find and work with the nature around me as much as possible. American have no idea how to make butter, cheese nothing. I saw that banana flow and was like how the heck you eat that or what do you do with that. In America depending on we’re you are people we’ll not buy from you fair and square they well mass rob you fit what you got.

In Sri Lanka everything is cheap Don't think coz of Economic Crisis the price of all the things are sky rocketinggg🙄 Nah nah.... Inflation price is like the normal price of Indian Market and few things are still cheaper. Their currency got weak, they don't have income. My colleague is from Sri Lanka he says everything about there. Only Few things are pricier than before, struggle is crazy to get some stuff.

It looks cheap because the price did not move up as fast as the currency did. So if you want to know real prices then divide it with 2.6 not 4.5

I am from America. FRUITS and vegetables are so cheap in India.Most vegetables are available for less than IRS 80 or ONE USD.But in America no vegetable is available for less than 3 dollars a kg( Rs.250).....learn some economics and Purchasing power comparision...parity)

You should have taken some guide or paid some local guy who speaks Hindi to take you around the market …. Some fruits/vegies you don’t know and some prices you calculated incorrectly (All should be in per Kg or per unit). You Didn’t show Tomatoes 😞 I feel some veggies & fruits are still cheaper than in India. Mind it they all are organic farming as chemical fertilisers are banned in SL. No wrong..tourism is the main part of our economy. due to bomb attack in 2019 ,2020 and 2021korona problem tourism was destroyed .this was the main reason for this crisis. also corrupt politicians,government workers was the reason for this. We have free education and free Health Service to every citizens. so our income was less in but expenses is high . organic fertilizer was a good decision but it should be more organized . in Sri Lanka there is some areas have Kidney Disease.some families haven't two or three family members due to this kidneydisaster.chemical fertilizer is the main reason for that. it should be stop step by step.but rajapaksh didnt do that one.

Rambutan fruits are quite cheap in Sri Lanka. Here in Karnataka they cost at least Rs 240/ IND a kilo.
