What are isonitriles good for? The Passerini reaction! This is a very neat multi-component reaction that is good for generating chemical libraries. When was it invented? What's the mechanism? What are we doing with it today? Let's find out!

Hi Professor Dave, I have a question for you regarding the isonitrile-to-nitrile conversion. Why can't a strong nucleophile initiate an "SN2 domino", displacing the cyanide, which will continue to act as a nucleophile and convert the isonitrile into a nitrile, even with a highly unhindered R group?

Respected sir 🌟, If we spin an magnet in space ( no air resistance) will the magnet slowly stop spinning due to production of em waves....what kind of force stops it? Even in the case of accerating charge, what is the opposing force that reduces the energy of accerating charge....so that energy is carried by em wave? Thank you 🌟
