Cheers for that. I learned more from that video than I did at my training centre.

I would have been shot if I didn't have a backup device on before I removed my asap. kind of what you did at the 1:30 mark. even if there was minimal swing potential our instructors don't allow that
@independentropes49222 жыл бұрын
You have to wonder what your instructor thinks will happen if you take your back up off mid way across the transfer on such a small re-anchor. If either rope fails you will take the same small swing whether you have a back up or not due to slack in the system.
@lawrencehanlan76292 жыл бұрын
@@independentropes4922 yeah I think in the course they were making sure we had backup devices on all the time. But I’ve seen since being out on the jobs my level 3’s and supervisors don’t care as long as I have 2 devices on.

If you are working, and training within the IRATA system this technique is absolutely acceptable. The ascender is under tension so will count as a point and the swing potential is minimal.

hi sir can we used or connect on chest ring the back up Duckr with Dynamic ropes imstead of asap.? total cows tail left on sit hraness D ring only 2 cows tail .
@independentropes49225 жыл бұрын
You can connect to the Duck with a cows tail to the chest. 40cm max length from memory, if you check the instructions it is mentioned.

@@independentropes4922 50cm from the sternal and 80cm from the ventral. Lengths include the knots and connectors. Nice video, well done.

Great vids and super helpful, but I agree with Chris Thompson, if these are videos to instruct people on Level 1, those that are completely new to this, then the pace is far too fast! There's a lot going on so maybe a little time in between changes to explain and show more movements slower for begginers would be helpful. Maybe it's needed for the format but does seem a bit click click go, next, click ckilck go, and not everyone is at that level

I connected my cows tail to the crab that are re-anchored, another point of attachment, is this okay?
@independentropes49223 жыл бұрын
That's fine, it's another option as long as the re-anchor is not wider than Han 1.5m
@rorywatson10watson70 Жыл бұрын
does croll count as one point ?
@allycoull4614 Жыл бұрын
Yes, if it's statically loaded the Croll is a full point.

Hola. Si te quitas el ASAP estando del puño y croll, en caso que el anclaje dónde está el ID o la cuerda rompiese, te quedarías sobre el puño croll, es decir sobre 2 equipos con "dientes"... esto es correcto?
@independentropes49224 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand. If your questions is to do with passing a small re-anchor with three points of contact the reason it's acceptable is due to the small swing in either direction if the Croll rope or descender rope fails. You can use four points if you want though.

Vids are very good but one thing SLOW DOWN a little I feel you do the manoeuvres too quick all the click click clicking with the crabs, trying to get my boys to watch these to learn and they are missing stuff, it’s ok for us who do it all the time, but newbies need to see all the little things you are doing, still all your vids are excellent 👌
