Sara Ondrako also has a great video on how to make a snuffle mat with a pocket as any type of Nose Work helps build their confidence too. My younger Dobe won't eat his lunch if I put it in his dish, has to be in his snuffle mat. Hope that helps.

Question: What about saying to your dog, no bark or we're going home, your choice. Now you have to follow through that very first time so they know you're not crying wolf. Next walk, could even be later that day, same thing. I find they're actually thinking, should I bark or do I want to keep walking with Mom or Dad? With dogs barking in their own yard as we pass or as soon as we hear them, will say no bark, he's doing his job. That's his yard. You would do the same thing if that was your yard. I get one whine and we continue on the walk. I have found it works like a charm and really you're allowing them to make their own choice - walk or go home. Please advise.

And you go back home the way you came - on the boring part of the walk that you've already gone on to get where the barking occurred.
