I hear your struggle with deciding branden. There was a day I would man handle that big stuff just to have anything on the wood lot and keep customers going.. But your wise to just pass that bigger stuff up and keep plugging away like your doing. Your on to something with that splitter/truck bed idea... just need a cheap lil gaser splitter that you could maybe mount the I-beam frame down to the bed in the direction your talking about.. just a thought. I’m going to keep brainstorming on that one sir 👍🏻 great video

I hear that, just looking for a decent little splitter atm. Appreciate the advice my man!

I definitely dig the splitter idea!
@leonardhesch97682 жыл бұрын
If you make the splitter so that it would swing out 90 degrees it would make it a lot more comfortable to use. Might not have to

I've been scoring tons of white oak and chestnut oak lately. I don't sell it but I do burn it. I've got 7 pickup truck loads from 2 spots. Probably 4 more loads there.

Might be good for camp fires but I wouldn't mix it. Like you said same amount of work for half the pay.

This is where I'd think that loader dump trailer combo would shine. Should be able to make lemons into lemonade, with things like this

I seen on on other channel they cut a barrel in half and made a clamshell bucket for dirt or even split firewood

@@jimrichards8703 my dad made one out of a pulp wood grapple on his full size prentice on his log truck. worked good for split, would do something similiar for sure

That's how I get most of my firewood, from. Marketplace

Good call that wood was decent but not worth it

I ise craigslist to find free firewood but I am using the wood to personal use at the house. I would have took that birch wood. I like mixing birch with my other woods.

I hear you, main issue was it was an all or nothing deal, I ended up just passing on it

Some guy in the fb Firewood Sellers group post a big pile of tree business cut (10” - 4’) maple logs piled up, some was over 2’ diameter and he said “today’s score”. I commented how much they paying you to remove it.

I have seen a guy with a small splitter like a boss industrial mounted on a lift gate with a stake body.

Poplar is good for camp fires isn’t it? No good for bundles?
@splittinnstuff65714 жыл бұрын
yes it's good for camp fires and bundles. Just now getting into the camp fire market right now. Just completed a similiar job where I pulled approx 10 cord of sweet gum off a site for just that

just thought noodle the big stuff, wood with a big knot is easy just rip cut the hnot out, you know leave it. never turn down free. if you noodle it your saw is your splitter.
@splittinnstuff65714 жыл бұрын
main problem is, my time is just the weakest link these days. I could stay busy 100 hours a week if it was physically possible. So the least profitable stuff has to be trimmed
@jeffwilliams51554 жыл бұрын
@@splittinnstuff6571 I understand your problem. Eventually you will sort it out.What I thought was using your saw to create premium looking firewood without the problems of manually splitting or dragging a splitter around.

poplar wood isn't good firewood?

Nope. Burns really fast and leave you cold and tired from handling it.

it's about the worst for hardwoods btu wise. I'll mix alittle into my hardwood loads just so customers can get their fires going, but thats about it

PASS on that junk Branden unless they pay you remove it.
@tt7hvn4 жыл бұрын
I always ask people to pay me to remove wood. As far as I'm concerned, it's yard debris. It's takes time and must be processed before I can sell it. It's irrelevant as what I do with it.
@splittinnstuff65714 жыл бұрын
To take all of this, id definitely need some money. If it's more manageable stuff that's a good species, and close to my route to and from work, I'd still haul some for free
