@justindloski9129 ... When the snow was melting on the Grass Turf at Briggs Stadium 🏟 Tiger 🏟 Stadium, ... the Turf would just get torn to pieces as the playing surface turned to Mud and slushy snow. Do a search for the Thanksgiving Day game against the Oakland Raiders. 1973, '74, or '75, I believe it was. As the snow stopped falling and the light Rain began around Halftime, you could see that footing was going to be very difficult in the 3rd & 4th quarters. The Pontiac Silverdome would later make it possible to ensure a dry Turf for the entire game.

@@thomaswatkins3686 What does that have to do with Dan Campbell visiting the plants and engaging with the auto workers? Yes, I’m from Detroit born and raised Eastside Elmwood Park to be exact. I admit I haven’t live in the city since 2003, but go back to visit from time to time due to me being in the military. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact, unlike many of the past coaches the Lions has had, Dan actually took the time out to really vibe with the citizens and factory workers. Why do you think the team implemented the “Grit” blue color work ethic and mentality….

Lions are just explosive. Vikings D was tenacious and you could tell they wanted to make a statement, but it was the Lions D that made a statement, and the offense got a slow start but kept the Vikings D on the field and wore them down in the second half, then the fireworks really started. Great game.

Dan's giving the D props, but to be fair, the D wouldn't have had the energy to do what they did if the O didn't control time of possession as much as they did. The Lions' O keeping the D off the field long enough to have enough energy to make constant high impact plays rather than to last the length of the game, was the key.

I would be willing to bet neither coordinator leaves us this year. This culture just seems like these guys are having fun and enjoying the game. Coach Campbell made the NFL better. So many teams going for it on 4th, doing more creative/trick plays. Then on top of that you have a guy like Brad in the background making moves. I guess the hardest thing would be turning down the guarantee money, but walking away from all the Love and support to a possible broken system seems very hard. I would think next year the Lions would be better too. Special shout out to our Defense as well, way to step up and play with heart. "You cant bury me when i come from dirt" was awesome line from Amik. Huge game this week for him.

MCDC one of the only coaches that can get overly emotional from a team that THEY expect him to perform at. He, yes demands of it from them, but because they believe into what he offers to them, they give it there all and demand it all from themselves. It is a feed back loop for this whole team demanding a strong demanding coach to lead this group. Only strong leaders can lead a strong team, and MCDC has done that.

Now we can enjoy this weekend without any stress.... wow that doesn't happen in Detroit. This what we needed to see. It's almost always about effort this time of year, and our coach knows how to get every last ounce out of this team. Holy cow, when I thought for 2 seconds he wasn't going to kick that FG and go up by 3 possessions I was going to smash my TV. I'm just now close to forgetting about last year!

Dan's giving the D props, but to be fair, the D wouldn't have had the energy to do what they did if the O didn't control time of possession as much as they did. The Lions' O keeping the D off the field long enough to have enough energy to make constant high impact plays rather than to last the length of the game, was the key.

The 2nd half yeah, not the 1st half. Defense str8 balled out, to play man coverage most of night and win against every receiver the Vikings ran out there allowed Detroit to pressure Darnold all night 56% blitz rate for Detroit, highest all year thanks to our back end locking everyone up like flys on shit

I'm still quite new to watching NFL as a Scotman, started watching about 2016-17 it's been great watching the way he's come in and completely turned that team around going from one of the worst to best. Winning #1 seed was well deserved.

Great game, coach, and thank God for the defense they were on fire 🔥 as much as I love our offense, and I hope from this point forward they come out firing 🔥 in the first half. If they don't and they do a 3rd quarter like that again, I'm afraid we will be done early in this run 💙

Kind of how I predicted earlier somewhere else, but no matter. They were given a 'meaningless game' against the 9ers, and played everyone and the media went off on them. Talked about how much yardage the defense gave up and how the defense was so weak. Did they not consider that is what they wanted the Vikings to think? They gave up no big plays in the game that mattered. NO TDS in the game that mattered, and still scored over 30.

Yeah, but that was important bc the Forty Ninnies played their best game of the year against the Lions, it felt like a playoff game, like this one did. Tonight Lions D played far better, bottling up the Vikings pass game and stopping most of the runs. Didn't look too great in the first quarter, but they kept sending blitzers and it rattled Darnold pretty good. Go Lions.

@@David-w9i7jJust to be clear, agree 100%. Just wanted to say both games felt like playoff games to me, even though the Ninnies are not a playoff team, they played like one that night. Lions overcame a tough challenge when it would have been easy to fold. There is no quit in this team, I love it.

@@georgelugenalt200 you got it. For sure, Dan was not letting off the gas in the season and tonight just proved how great of a team they are. Not a single TD in the most important game of the year? Topping it off with 31 on offense.
