This video is for making a simple Crossover filter network for use with a Sub woofer, which cuts down higher audio frequencies above 200 Hz. This network will pass low frequency range of 20 to 200 cycles which is most suitable band for a sub woofer. This network can handle sufficient power upto 300 watts. For higher power, the coil wire has to be thicker . A non polar 100 mfd capacitor can be made by joining negative ends of two 200 mfd 100 volt capacitors which becomes 100 mfd 200 volt.
If the coil is made with a coil winding machine you can check the no. of turns. Otherwise you have to calculate the weight of the wire from wire gauge chart. I shall share about other types of network for two way and three way speaker systems in my next episodes of Making Loudspeaker series.
