Yes all of it looks like a dream on the film. But the truth is bitter. Other than the people cherry picked for testimonies in this film, tens and thousands of citizens in India applying for a passport or renewal of it are subjected to untold harassment for flimsy reasons. Citizens of this country who deserve a fair deal feel orphaned as there is no trustworthy system/people that can help citizens get a simple thing like their right to a passport granted. I don't know about other PSKs in India, but with my first hand experience at the PSK in Sai Arcade, Bangalore, I can say one of the government employees at the C-counter (an old grumpy lady with a jagged front-line teeth), in particular, is an unfit for the position. She is programmed to reject applications and pick some nonsensical issue or the other to deny a citizen's right to a passport. And she continues to do it with impunity. Particularly, with those that do not depend on a tout. They appear to think that once you become a government employee you get special powers to harass fellow citizens of this country. Do we really have a functioning system at all in this country? Allowing such unprofessional, irresponsible, insensitive and uncommitted people to continue in government service - and that too in such responsible positions - takes away the success PPP and technology are supposed to ideally bring into public service. It is the attitude of government servants that need a paradigm shift before any innovation is put in place. None of it will work as long as the quality of people that man the system do not improve. Sad to say this. But that's the harsh reality. What's worse is, the layman in this "democratic country" has nobody to turn to, who he can trust to get his issues redressed. In such a hopeless scenario one is bound to think this country hardly works for the common man. It only works for those with pelf and power. And that too, at the expense of the common man.

It was a cake walk 10:15 was my slit Me all g with my wife and Baby applied for fresh passport to my baby and 're issue to my wife and me. We visited Begumpet psk it was fast and service was good. With in three days with police verification passport got delivered to us. Only thing is extra amount for sms service and insisting to buy cover for passport is a bit irritating other than that everything is cool. Appreciate the work of Psk Begumpet

This video and the description above are entirely deceitful. My passport renewal is blocked since several months due to technical Issue and there is no update on its resolution nor any response. Apparently there are a lot of people facing same kind of Issue. Hope the Ministry of External Affairs, relevant officers and TCS will take necessary actions to solve the Issue and provide a valuable service.

I had been to pok Hubli. I was issued token within 30mins, but I had to wait all day, around 6hrs for my next rounds. The staff weren't telling the exact time. It really ruined my day. Around 4-5pm my turn has come, which took around 30secs for verification. Probably the verification officers were lazy n taken everything fr granted. Finally I had to bribe police for verification completion!!

Why a applicant needs an Police Verification.??? If the person is needed by Law enforcement agencies or wants to restrict then he may be held at Immigration Counter at the airport while leaving the country. Police Verification is an loop deliberately left.

RIAZ Don't panic. You can change your details at Passport Seva Kendra after you get your token. Just carry all your required documents for proof of Non ECR Category.

I along with my wife had gone to a passport sewa kendra in HP. to renew our still active passports. Every thing was going on well and my passport was accepted and punched with a cancelled stamp but my wife’s pass port was found with a minute damage at a binding edge and not acceptrd and were told to apply a fresh with Rs 3000/- fee. Earlier we had deposited Rs 1500// for each passport. We were told to pay for the damage of passport. It so negligible that unless you specifically try to find fault , cannot be noticed, i think that the lady has intentionally done that minicule damage at the edge binding just to harass us.. in any case passport was to be punched and stamped as cancelled. Then why such hard action. I wish to send the passport to highest authority to check and investigate this harassment . I am a war veteran super senior citizen. Can any one advise me.

It is very difficult to get a passport today even unnecessary queries are raised by passport office like why mother name not written in online application now the question is if it were mandatory to write mother name in application why the field is made optional in online application after replying the objection letter they have issued another letter as informed in email for God known reason it takes one month to receive a letter from passport office they people no fear of Modi Gov also

Your PASSPORT SEVA KENDRA and employees are polite and helpful but after that police verification comes which is very pathetic. Police man calls up and they will ask you to come to his police station with documents after verification they will again ask you to come tomorrow with other documents even if you give all the documents still they will ask for bribe which is a very good amount like Rs:4000 and if you are unable to give you will never get you passport. This has happened to one of my friend as he did not had four thousand rupees he told them that he can give two thousand but they did not agreed. I don't understand why government is not looking into this matter? Why government not arranging online verification of the documents in passport seva kendra? Why government is not abolishing police verification like other countries?

Got an appointment today after one month of e submission. Was called in basic procedure took 30 minutes. Once I met granting officer he seems pretty much the same as they were in the older setup. Looking for reasons to irritate you and turn down your application. It very clearly says in the document check list that an address proof is not required if 1. There is no address change from your older passport, 2, If the passport is expired less than 36 months back. The so called granting offier,,,

Well .. just to everybody's knowledge .. few things have changed, not much after making the system online. Once you reach there process is that everyone has to go to counter A,B &C. Counter A has some contractual/young staff which is in private person's hand and that has changed, they would be efficient and a bit friendly. B&C personnel who have the authority to reject / approve your passport is still with govt people where the tendency is same. They try hard to make you suffer , they will not be on their desk let people wait like the bad olden days. I visited yesterday to get my passport renewed and what I could interpret is that not much got changed in 10 yrs .. only that first level has become efficient !! Bull shit I was hearing that things have become better but not so !!
