I have Olivia's movie Lady in a cage on DVD. It also stars James Caan in his debut performance. It is a thriller. I also enjoyed her in The Screaming Woman. She lived a long life to 104 & was the last surviving actor from Gone with the wind. I think Anthony was sweet & handsome. He will always be remembered for being Norman Bates but he has been in many great movies. He was awfully good in Five Miles To Midnight, Desire Under The Elms & Green Mansions IMO. When I look at the date for this show, I see that it's a little bit less than a year before the Beatles came to America and changed men's hairstyles almost immediately!
@faithfulforever63313 жыл бұрын
@@519djw6 Well, I think even in 1963 in the US men's hairstyles were beginning to be on the longer side and something people tend to forget unless they lived during those times was that men's hair in the 1950s was not short, especially on top of the head. Short back and sides meant that the top was kept long. It just didn't seem so long because some type of hair product like Brylcreem plastered down the length, but the length was still there. Only with the late 50's and early 60's did haircuts like the flattop and "Princeton" did really short hair for men become fashionable and that was largely because these short haircuts were easy to take care of and didn't require much hair product. So really when the Beatles brought in "mop tops," men just went back to the longer styles. But then by the 1970s hair really did get much longer. Now I think there is a movement back to really short hair, at least in young guys. Every generation of men has a tendency to wear their hair different from their fathers. I like Anthony Perkins hair in this video.

Anthony Perkins REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to win, it's like a psychological compulsion, a drive and desire to win. Wow he's competitive. Mind you so am I when playing Scrabble. Although he doesn't punch the air and go I win I win I win in a silly voice like I do! Even the audience chuckles at his eagerness to win. When he doesn't he crosses his arms and looks mute and miffed. He's very intense isn't he but in a laid back quiet way. Fascinating psychology. Joan is a great player but isn't hyped up by the drive to win, she has a wonderful diction and speaking voice, just lovely to listen to.

Tony Perkins was obsessed with game playing in real life. He held legendary parties in which he and friend Stephen Sondheim would devise clever games requiring sharp language and deduction skills. One of the games they concocted formed the basis for their 1973 murder mystery film The Last of Sheila. If you’ve never seen it you should check it out. It’ll keep ya guessing until the end.
