@majkus3 жыл бұрын
And the fact that you think of Williams as 'Will Robinson's dad' was exactly why he is little remembered now: the show was taken over by the 'camp' elements (partly because 'Batman' was a blockbuster in the same time slot) and emphasized Will and Dr. Smith and the Robot. Major West and Judy Robinson were almost 'and the rest' (as in Gilligan's Island), and the senior Robinsons fared little better.

NBC resurrected the game less than a month ago. It airs on Tuesday nights. The new show is hosted by Keke Palmer and, like the original, features celebrity guests. Jimmy Fallon is a permanent celebrity guest. I watched it one night. There is a bit more silliness to it, but it sticks pretty close to the original format and rules. It’s enjoyable.

@@vincentfalsaperla Your comment prompted me to look him up in wikipedia. He did indeed have a horse-riding accident in 1953, which for some reason greatly affected his film career but he still pursued a TV career. @@robsemail It affected his film career because he had to go into rehab for close to six months, and in Hollywood that might as well be ten years! Interestingly enough, part of his rehab involved going back to what his father had taught him as a child: fencing! His talent with a sword was part of what Disney was looking for when he cast Zorro.
