Okay, but just a little something that I think you should know (no hate): the manga content ISN'T canon, Leon did kill Sayaka and the reason why he says that he didn't have a choice is because he truly believes that it was self defense, after all she did try to kill him and would mostly likely try again before he could tell it to the others, so he killed her to protect himself or something like that. If Sayaka or Leon was in the right, that's something up to interpretation, but the fact is that Leon ended up killing Sayaka. Changes or extras that the anime and the manga come up with aren't canon in the Danganronpa universe, you might put it as canon in your au, but it's a great remind to not talk about it as if it was official.

Warning: danganronpa v3 spoilers(I think) I don't mind your Sayaka and Leon theory(or what ever you wanna call it) but I thought I should add that in the end of Leon's execution, you can hear a voice saying innocent 3 times The same thing happened in Kaede's execution and in the end you find out that she actually was innocent since she didn't kill Rantaro but instead it was the mastermind and that's not a chapter 1 tradition like making chapter 3 a doppel murder since that did happened in teru terus execution You can think about that in the way of Leon killing her in self defense or Sayaka 'killing herself'
