Fun fact: Shinobu used to be able to decapitate demons, it wasn't until she started injecting herself with the poison, that she lost the strength to decapitate a demon. Edit: Im dumb. It's not true, she was always too weak to decapitate them but like she still injected herself with poison so yh.

Sun breathing users don't need to be present to activate the mark, gyomei, muichiro(they were at the same location but weren't present together when he got his mark)and sanemi got their mark in the absence of tanjiro.....

The Hashira unlocked the mark when they met the conditions. I don't remember it being said in the manga that sun breathing user needs to get his mark first......
