A participle is a nonfinite verb form that has some of the characteristics and functions of both verbs and adjectives.
The two kinds of participles are present participle & past participle.
The present participle is the form of a verb that is used as either an adjective or a part of another verb tense like the perfect or continuous tenses
.A nonfinite verb is a derivative form of a verb contrasted against finite verb forms in that they lack inflection for number or person, and in that they cannot perform action as the root of an independent clause.
