This here is a perfect example of what happens when you refuse to acknowledge your mistakes or bad behavior. Elizabeth is on the same boat with Michael. They're not good people, BUT unlike Elizabeth, Michael acknowledges his faults and tries to get help for it so that he can be a better person for his wife and son, Elizabeth on the other hand chooses not to and became an abusive narcissistic mother and wife. She may have come from a toxic family, but that does not justify her mistreating her husband and children. I do have a few questions: What does Michael think about his nieces and nephew(along with Barry thinking about his cousins)? Does Brent ever go to visit Oliver? And how does Elizabeth's children feel about their new stepmother(if they'll ever have one)?

Michael is neutral about his nieces and nephew. He doesn't really spend a lot of time with them, and Barry thinks Fiona is boring, but he likes Vivian and Alexander. Brent is lowkey scared to visit Oliver because he doesn't want to run into Elizabeth while he's back in Hurricane. He doesn't want her to hurt him in an act of revenge for what he did to her (he assumes she's the same woman who hurt him and his kids) Elizabeth's kids love Brent's new girlfriend (he's waiting to get married again due to everything), and they see her as the mother they always wanted. The girlfriend, in turn, treats them all equally and loves them like her own.

Some facts for context: ◇Elizabeth has 3 kids. Fiona (7), Vivian (6), and Alexander (3) ◇Elizabeth is obsessed with Brent. They've been together since high school ◇Elizabeth treats her children poorly, and Brent hates that, but he can't leave her for 2 reasons: If he tries to, she'll hurt the kids, and he feels obligated to stay due to a promise he made her back in high school ◇Brent is a people pleaser. It's hard for him to say no to someone, and it's hard for him to set boundaries for himself. But since Elizabeth started hurting his kids, he's trying to recover and get stronger ◇Brent secretly resents Elizabeth, but he doesn't let her know that to protect his children from her anger

Just imagine Brent slapped Elizabeth, I wonder how will she take it. But, maybe PTSD because of Elizabeth’s history with both mental and physical abuse by her father and step mother.

They were all shocked that Brent had it in him to do something like this, but they all subconsciously agreed that this was inevitable. Elizabeth should've changed her ways before the attack, and she didn't. Oliver did feel bad (but didn't show it), Michael felt like Brent went too far and offered to help Elizabeth through any healing process she had (Destiny didn't like that idea but didn't object), William was stunned but didn't really visit Elizabeth, and Nora slightly felt bad for her but didn't go visit her either.

​@LegitMay Oliver felt bad for both of them. Elizabeth because well, she was nearly k1ll3d and he wouldn't wished that upon anyone, and Brent because he's a very good guy who lost himself and was now known across Hurricane as an attempted m4rd3r3r.

Jesus seems like Elizabeth really inherited some of her fathers personality, cycle of abuse although William had good parents in this au so he just was a dick for no good reason. Although question: how did brent go from pushover to stabbing her in the chest? Was it kinda like a break from everything.

William mostly became pretty heartless due to his parents' d3@th3s, and the grief kinda took over and made him lash out. And Brent basically snapped. He was tired of being mistreated and tired of his kids being hurt. Alexander being hospitalized broke him a bit, and in his head, he was going to keep his remaining children safe, even if it meant k1ll1ng Elizabeth for that to happen

(I mean even if he does talk about disposing of Micheal before those happened) as for Brent I guess you can't blame him, I mean probably should have gotten the cops involved instead of straight to attempted murder but his son was just hospitalized so it was a heat of the moment thing.
