If we wanna be technical then yes Bardock is technically the super saiyin that he is referring to because Bardock went back in time and was on the last version of planet Vegeta when he became a super saiyin and the people living there made the legend of the super saiyin along with Lord Chilled who fought super saiyin Bardock and lost so he told his family to and I quote "Beware the blind super beings known as saiyins" which was a warning that was passed down all the way to Lord Frieza which is why he destroyed planet Vegeta out of fear that another super saiyin would be born and he would suffer the same defeat that his ancestor has all those years ago..... Short version is: Technically Bardock is the legendary super saiyin or the super saiyin from the legend
