Hi Rebecca. No, the Gloves in a Bottle won’t impact the pastels. It isn’t oily or greasy. It pretty much adheres to your skin once it’s dry and won’t come off onto the pastel.

You might want to consider cleaning your pastels…having them piled on top of each other makes it difficult to see each true color and value

I hate to clean them obviously, but I paint so often that I would be spending all of my time cleaning them instead of painting. When I paint, I am concerned with getting the correct value more than the correct color, and my tray of pastels is set up to reflect that. I can find the values I need pretty easily. I honestly love to use a wide variety of colors to represent an area of value, so finding the perfect color is not my priority, getting the value correct is. Also, the random colors that make the outside of the pastel appear dirty, come right off onto the paper with the first pass, leaving no trace. It probably has something to do with the sanded papers I use. They are extremely rough.
