The pursuit of masterly quality and technique is a high priority for Lyn Diefenbach, whose work is imbued with a celebration of her faith and of life. Her paintings cover a myriad of subject matter, with her bold florals consistently receiving accolades nationally and internationally. Her ability to communicate her ideas has entrenched her as a respected and sought-after tutor, with teaching engagements internationally and across Australia.
Lyn was accepted into the International Guild of Realism in May 2008 and holds Master Pastellist status with the Pastel Society of Australia. In 2014 she was awarded Master Circle in the International Association of Pastel Societies. She has been featured numerous times in both the International Artist, Pastel Journal and the Australian Artist magazines.
Her paintings are represented in major regional and private collections within Australian and overseas. Her work is available from Lasting Impressions Gallery in Kenilworth (QLD), Weswal Gallery in Tamworth (NSW) as well as by private commission.

The Colour In Your Life TV series is an art show that takes you into the everyday studios of artists from around the world. While in the studio they share their individual techniques with the viewer in a relaxed atmosphere with a delightfully Australian host and fellow artist Graeme Stevenson. The series is currently filmed in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
Graeme Stevenson, a world renowned Artist himself, rides his Harley Davidson to the studios of Artists all over the world and allows the viewers a chance to go into the Art studios of some of the greatest Artists in the world.

It’s been 100 years since I’ve picked up anything art related, and I recently went back to watercolor. I don’t know why I hadn’t learned the methods that I am learning now, but I am loving it. I had always thought of pastels as clunky, messy, and muddy. In my opinion, there are many pastel artists who weren’t nearly as good as they think they are. And then I ran into this lady. OMG. She has made me completely rethink my opinion on pastels. I’m talking about 180° sea change. Her work amazingly beautiful. And while I have very little hope of reaching her degree of skill and talent, I have recently purchased the first pastels I’ve had in over 40 years. I’m going to sit down and practice. After that, I have no words.

I have been working with pastels going on 5 years now but have deviated, trying acrylics, watercolour and alcohol ink. I grew up looking at my great aunts and great grandma paintings my favorite when I was a little girl was great great grandmother's portrait of Adam and Eve ,Eve coming out of the rib of Adam it was quite beautiful and inspired me to become an artist

Heartfelt thanks for creating and sharing Graeme (and Lyn). Cyclone Marcia Feb 2015 turned my life upside down. Maybe it was already upside down because I had not been painting even though I am one of those 'locals' who has experienced Lyn Dief's 'giving back' painting tuitions (oils and pastel in flowers, portraits and waterscapes). Graeme I read your comment re 4years of slog! More thanks and that inspires me to keep going in my current project as the going seems tough. Well, a long time has passed since you did this video and I don't know if you will see this comment but I just found you so I wanted to respond. At the very beginning when Lyn was talking about herself I had an immediate response. I have been a full time artist for over 50 years now and just like her, all I ever wanted to do from a young child,was to be an artist and what was funny is that I was also wanting to be an archeologist :) After years of oil and acrylic painting on canvas, I find myself picking up the pastels again after many years.
