When he played John Boy in Love/Hate I thought it was just like Aidan Gillen turning up on set and not getting into character. He just rocked up in front of the camera and was himself. Worked really well I thought. That character required a look and an attidude, a confidence and a sneer and Aidan has that (I don't mean that to sound derogatory - sneer is the only way I can describe John Boy's look).
