I love how the song has matured with the artist. Rather than being a time capsule into my youth listening to punk rock, this was more like bumping into an old friend who has changed over the years in much the same way that I have. A little more world-weary, more than a little melancholy, but full of love for all of those things that used to make me smile.

that's partially because Cape writes lyrics from a mature world-weary view. I can revisit his music in ways that just aren't possible with bands like Taking Back Sunday, or other high school relationship punk that came out in the late 90s / early 2000s
