I've had their CD for years, and it's on my ipod in the truck, and I still sing (very badly) to it when their songs come through the shuffling madness of the digital selection of songs. Their songs and music never get old to me. Thank you, Collective Soul!

I tell people every time I get the chance: "You remember Collective Soul? Guess what, they're still making music....and more importantly, they're still making GREAT MUSIC! As a matter of fact, they NEVER STOPPED MAKING GREAT MUSIC. I like to call them "The little band from Atlanta that could". Because so many of their "90's alternative" peers have either broken up, or worse, committed suicide. Eddie Vedder and Jerry Cantrell are really the only other high profile figures from that era who are still prolific at their craft. But Collective Soul never left. Ever.

I bought Collective Soul's album on CD in the mid nineties after hearing a couple of their songs on Triple J in Australia. The whole album is gold, it flows and plays with your emotions. It still gives me chills and makes my heart sing. You guys are so talented, thank you so much for enriching our lives with your music :) I hope I get the chance to see you live someday before we're all too old.......

Great band. I remember telling the bassist in Philly fot the last performance at "The Chestnut Cabaret" that they should be invited to play Woodstock. With much humility he balked politely and as I'm cresting the hill a few months later at Woodstock 94 I could hear shine. Sat there in delight as i told the story to a complete stranger watching my favorite band.

I've been a fan of Collective Soul for 30 years. When Ed brags repeatedly about his live stuff having no overdubs I can't help but think of how they rely on such a massive amount of backing tracks while they play live that every member can stop playing and the sound hardly changes....

I've listened to CS since their first album, they've been a part of my life musically for the last 25 years...not only for their talent but also because they were different from most rock bands...CS had "clean" music lyrically with references of faith and God...why now Ed has put profanity into his writing I do not understand...love you guys and praying for you.

I have to agree with defstar...I love CLEAN music...and the "Lyrics" that CS since I was 23 helped mold me into the GOOD person I am TODAY! Im kinda unsure of the new rebel CS? Yes TOTAL TALENT there, I just have a hard time "digesting" the new language. Pretty much 99% of the bands OUT There ARE Profane, what sets CS apart now? I liked the UNIQUE CS take on WILD FUN ROCK & slow meaningful Ballads with NO PROFANITY
@Miamiborne1969
@Miamiborne1969 5 жыл бұрын
defstar Agreed and previewing the new songs, there is a pattern developing with profanity. I think Ed is trying too hard to make a "hit" album and unfortunately being a little more Edgy with the lyrics will probably achieve that. Bummer because this would be a great song with using God's name in vain.
