years ago i clicked on government mule, that was a fateful click i've never regretted; Warren has become my favorite male blues singer/guitar player. you've earned my respect, keep hitting it!

I first saw Warren live in 1987 with Greg Allman. I knew then he was a special talent destined for a long career.

I struggle to decide whether he's a better guitar player or better singer...this song doesn't help. He is just plain awesome.

Better singer. He's not bad at guitar, but seriously you feel the void left by Derek Trucks. Amazing artist nonetheless.

I recall this song on a great blues cd by Chris Anderson. Pretty sure the cd was called Old Friend. Saw Chris at the Gator Club in Sarasota probably 35 years ago. Warren does this justice.

I stall... as 62 smacks me in the face (I'm the 63d commenter), still in awe of an icon of voice and guitar...now that's pure unadulterated music, thanks for posting it. I love loose and string slides. Parents played guitar, bass, steel, dobro and mandolin

Tell me old friend, when you gonna let me be? Tell me now, old friend, when you gonna let this poor man be?

Anyone know what tuning this is? When he plays with Derek Trucks he's in standard but there's just no way here. Drop D or Open D?
@andrewptob5 жыл бұрын
Double drop D. Just drop you low and high E strings down to a D. 🤙
@bandersonbanderson18275 жыл бұрын
I believe it is in a D tuning.
@andrewptob5 жыл бұрын
Banderson Banderson It’s double drop D. I wasn’t guessing
@ScreaminNighthog5 жыл бұрын
In The video I believe you are referring to with Warren and Derek playing back stage, Warren is playing in double drop D and Derek is tuned to Open D. Warren D-A-D-G-B-D (Double drop D) Derek D-A-D-F#-A-D (Open D)
