That warms my heart. My wife left me 7 months ago after 10 years together and 5 years of marriage and I sometimes just listen to this song for a good cry. Pretty fucked on my part for forcing myself to sad. I did jump a gate and let her in once in college. lol

I just have a hard time thinking this to be true. Part of the mystique of first meeting someone is not knowing if it's for sure. I would imagine you have a little more security in your relationship now, right? I'm very happy for you. It's just hard for me to fathom this concept. I acknowledge that you have no reason to make this up, so not accusing you of lying. Just asking for clarification. How is it possible when you are so sure of each other? My high school sweetheart when this song came out, although magical, we both had so much changing left to do. And we did. Now she is someone I could never see myself with from a personality perspective. It's so amazing you guys have stuck together through the changing of the tides. Were there no changes you had to adapt to with her? Everyday is seriously no question? I admire you, and am cheering you on.

I'm just reading these comments getting irate over here. People are have no idea what pitch is. This performance is raw and breathtaking. Contemporary listener ears are so saturated with fake autotuned, vocaligned, doubled, and compressed vocal tracks in popular music and on these stupid fake singing shows they cant recognize the perfection in something thats real but just slightly rough around the edges.
@haroldharrington10745 жыл бұрын
@@kevinmccord8847 I know right? I feel like even if I didnt play any instruments I'd still love this version way more than the original though. he puts just as much emotion into the strumming of the chords as he puts into his vocals

So many comments about Chris's voice and looks. We all age, if we have the privilege of doing so. Over time, our voices change and no performance is ever a carbon copy of another. I had the honor of my emotions being placated/redeemed by this man's lyrics and music in my twenties. I have nothing but admiration and respect. I am grateful, for it has helped me endure those ominous and formative years. Love to all going through something that this connects to.

Breathe in for luck, Breathe in so deep, This air is blessed, You share with me. This night is wild, So calm and dull, These hearts they race, From self control. Your legs are smooth, As they graze mine, We're doing fine, We're doing nothing at all. My hopes are so high, That your kiss might kill me. So won't you kill me, So I die happy. My heart is yours to fill or burst, To break or bury, Or wear as jewellery, Whichever you prefer. The words are hushed lets not get busted; Just lay entwined here, undiscovered. Safe from the hour and all the stupid questions "Hey did you get some?" Man, that is so dumb. Stay quiet, stay near, stay close they can't hear So we can get some. My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me. So won't you kill me, so I die happy. My heart is yours to fill or burst, To break or bury, or wear as jewellery, Whichever you prefer. Hands down this is the best date I can ever remember, Always remember, the sound of the stereo, The dim of the soft lights, The scent of your hair that you twirled in your fingers And the time on the clock when we realized it's so late And this walk that we shared together. The streets were wet and the gate was locked so I jumped it, And let you in. And you stood at your door with your hands on my waist And you kissed me like you meant it. And I knew that you meant it, that you meant it, That you meant it, and I knew, That you meant it, that you meant it.

I saw him live many times, in the early 2000’s and the intensity in his performances were gnarly! It didn’t scream longevity, that’s for sure. His voice has been thrashed, from touring. The Fact that the man wrote it… And sings it with such fascinating emotion… which is something a lot of people that call themselves “artists” in this day and age… struggle with, especially because they don’t write their own music. This guy ages beautifully and his voice is going to have flaws because he’s acoustic and can sing With those beautiful flaws. Real flaw’s make everything more real.
