I was so confused because I know WWD by heart, so when it didn't start with the Cretaceous introduction, then jump to Postosuchus and Ceolophysus, I got very confused. Then when it picked up, I realized you really did make this all from scratch using your own assets and plot lines. This isn't just WWD remade with modern CGI, it's a full-on new special entirely just done the same style. I'm absolutely flabbergasted. Well done, man. This is incredible! EDIT: WAIT, IT'S JWE! I feel stupid. I didn't realize until I saw second act. I can't wait for the switch version.

Yeah, I used to watch Dinosaurs when I was like four or something. I was an adult when they started getting decent enough cgi for documentaries. Decent in terms of it not looking like assets ripped from an N64 game, anyway. This was well-made though. Also, the finale for Dinosaurs was fucking depressing dude lol.

Diplodocus is my favorite long neck sauropod. Put up to 50 in a herd walking together, get a skyview and my goodness it looks absolutely stunning especially with their long whip like tails

Sometimes I wonder how their lung capacity of extremely long necked sauropods could be enough to purge their trachea and get enough fresh air back into the lungs. As much air as the trachea will contain will be re-breathed and deplete the oxygen they received. Seems they might have done well with a shortcut for the air entry way- something like a tracheostomy. I know that's too strange to imagine but these animals are already too strange so why not?

This is absolutely amazing. It was on my recommended list and I just clicked on it because I had nothing else to watch, my surprise when 20 minutes just passed on what seemed like seconds. A very good piece of work with just one ( minor) issue. Some of the scenes of the diplodocus show some of them dragging their tails along the ground. However, no fossil sauropod footprint tracks are accompanied by marks indicating that the tail ever dragged on the ground, and the skeletal structure suggests the tail was kept off the ground at all times. This is, however, a minor issue: otherwise, for something just 21 minutes or so long, it is very well made and highly informative.

I'm totally aware of that issue and that wasn't done on purpose, basically those Dinosaurs were injured in the game, and in result the animation associated is them dragging their tail, which is why all the others have normal tails. Thank you for your comment !

@@PastEons Thank you- I wasn't aware that the footage was from a game! In that case, a tail- bitten diplodocus might well drag it's tail on the ground. I had two cats who had their tails bitten at one time or another- one was bitten half way along, the other, right at the base. In both cases, the tail was limp and painful for the cat until the bite, and the infection stemming from it had healed up. A dinosaur with an injured tail might well have similar symptoms, and there is a fossil of a tyrannosaur who lost a good part of its tail in some kind of fight or accident. There were signs that the injury had begun to heal, so it wasn't a case of the tail loss was due to fragmentation of the fossil.

Excellent job, I like the genuine documentry feel and the music and soaring wide angle shots of the BBC's original. It was a little jarring to see modern plant models, but I accept its probably the best that can be done with the in game foliage assets. Also good cinamatography? Yeah, I'm going with that. Camera angles, shooting as such. Keep it up.
