This is so much easier and looks exactly the same. Thank you.

I'm making up a slouchy beret and want to incorporate a lateral braid as part hat band (braid borders with an inch of seed stitch in between). This is by far the most clear, concise and well-video-ed one I've found. Well done, thank you so much!

I come across lateral braids so infrequently that I always forget how to do them. This is the easiest version I've seen. Thank you!

Thank you SO MUCH for recording this video. I was struggling for hours trying to knit these braids with a different method, but this one is not only easier to execute, but my braids end up looking much neater and more consistent on top of that. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks! This is an ingenious way to make a lateral braid. I wish I had known about it when knitting my last sweater which had these braids.

Holy cow! I struggled for 2 days trying to add a Latvian braid to my project, and the pattern instructions were a mile long…and very confusing. This is so much easier and looks perfect. Thank you so much! You saved my sanity!

Thank you for a well done and helpful, clear video. This technique seems eliminates the loose row above the braid that you get with other methods. I like it!

I had just viewed another tutorial that was MUCH more complicated! This one is much the easiest and I'm about to use it as accent stripes on a toss pillow in gold sparkly yarn on black background. Gonn be stunning! THANK YOU!

How can you do it without cutting the yarn? - As you want to continue knitting without having to attach yarn again.

I’m wondering the same thing. Is it possible to do this method without cutting the yarn? Can you go back later and “fix” it?
@lynnewillette26544 ай бұрын
Yes. “Without cutting yarn, slip first stitch of new round onto right needle without working it. Pass last stitch of last round over the slipped stitch.” It’s like when you exchange first and last stitches to join into a round at the beginning of casting on for a sock. Does that help? 😊

What needle size do you use in relation if it's (1) in a field of knitting (same size? slightly smaller?) (2) between knitting and rib, like a collar, hem, or cuff?

Oh, wow, so it’s basically a bind off but you’re making replacement stitches with the yarn overs!
@noriskern7385 Жыл бұрын
It didn't work well for me, cause all these yarn overs looked loose when I knitted the next row - I had to twist them and then they looked weird next to the braid. The video doesn't show how to work this out.
