I have been struggling with this myself since the election. I currently attend a mostly white SBC Church, and the people are very kind and loving to me. But lately I cannot seem to get past knowing that they all voted against my right to exist and thrive as a person of color in this country (voting for Trump). It's a tough spot to be in as a Black Christian - attending a church with a mostly white congregation where you are loved and accepted, but yet you still have knowledge of the political divide. I somehow feel disloyal to my own Black people.

The pulpit should be reserved for the preaching of The Word, not for partisan augumentalism. I’ve been a member of both white and black churches. Yes things have changed and prodominately white churches are more receptive of other races today. But I know that most question your theology and believe that they are right and you have been taught wrong. Not all but most traditional main stream denominations do, you’re gonna earn your place in leadership cause to them you not like us and yes we all want to believe that people don’t see race but get to know people and have a real conversation. There are differences in our churches, christanity is not color blind even in the best of churches.

I can understand his point but to stand behind that pulpit and cuss and the people Amen and clap as if this is ok is beyond belief. There is some truth in what he is saying. But don’t allow the message to be focused on personal feelings and anger because what’s in you will come out in the wrong place at the wrong time.
