And even in the midst of his downward spiral before he was revealed, I felt his intensity, his passion and his sincerity when he spoke of God’s love, grace and mercy. It was like through his preaching he was crying out to God like King David even though we, the public, had no idea about his private life. I see you Pastor Lentz and I would sit under your pastorship again because even though you were in sin, your message was still Truth. As a Christian, that was very critical of Carl, this was wholesome and it shows how God will humble us because he doesn't just care about the people we preach to but our spiritual well-being too... if we are going down the wrong path he loves us enough to allow it to blow up in our face so our souls are saved, this was God's love, he could have died in the adulterous state, but for the sake of his ministry he did not allow that to be his end story, its a testimony of his true salvation. i believe once truly saved you God will make sure you are not lost, however that may go

As a member of Nyc hillsong at the time i was very disappointed in how Hillsong handled it, they removed Laura from getting paid when she probably needed it most and it made my stomach turn when Bryan Huston went on air calling Carl a narcissist, attacking someone who was clearly trying to get through this tough time w his family. It was disheartening to see the church remove their support for this family, the opposite of what the church teaches. I am so happy they made it through this storm and their kids are so much wiser, so much more empathetic *as the church should be* Best Wishes to Carl, Laura and their family
@nileshtailor76092 ай бұрын
You gotta understand it from Brian and Church Leadership point of view though. Carl knowingly led the Hillsong Church while he was battling this sin. Someone of that caliber should have stepped down right away but his sin was found out that led to him going through this. For them they had to take quick judgement call to restore faith of the church goers in Hillsong Church that the priesthood is untainted. And also so that Carl and his family can get the redemption they need and rehab so they can recover.

We learnt so much from this interview that it should be a masterclass teaching about the dangers of fame and the fall from grace. picking up the pieces of a broken trust and mending it back, one step at a time, rebuilding trust, and overcoming shame. Love is a powerful medium, and it was felt throughout the podcast. Dj Envy stood out. It was his moments and the questions he asked that carried the weight and eventual success of this episode. Special praise to the Hillsong couple for not giving up on your marriage in the toughest moments. This will inspire others to just come clean and face their shortcomings. 2024 is the coming out year. They don't talk about those things. They talk about secular therapy.

God’s grace and mercy is AWESOME! I thank God every day that he is God and not man, because the grace and mercy would come with a cause and condemnation.

Love seeing someone who can say honestly I did this that and the other, went to rehab broke myself and I'm not looking to be back where I was, but to help others that are in my situation and steer others away from going to my situation.

When people fall, leaders are there to support. When leaders fall, people scatter 😂 Good for Laura, the kids, and this guy for focusing on their healing and restoration instead of fighting a battle that distracted them from it.

Leaders?? 😂😂😂 They all about themselves. They are just good public speakers.

He was honest with himself and Laura by admitting that he only confessed because he got caught and it was going to come out publicly. At least he was honest in that. I admire Laura for being there for him. That takes some doing.

Imagine being a former pastor and Christian and being on a show with a person who calls himself a “god” and the other who goes by the name “envy,” and there is literally nothing different between your life and theirs. When Carl was asked who he wished he could have gone to for help; referenced Charlemagne the False God’s book! Jesus said to let our light shine, not blend in. I am thankful for Carl’s restoration and Laura’s faith to stick it out. But there was literally nothing in this conversation that gave explicit glory to God through Jesus Christ (repentance, sin, heaven, hell, was never touched). Carl talks like the world, acts like the world, and the world loves him as their own. Jesus said in Luke 6:26, “Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.”

You are what’s wrong with how people perceive Christianity. Instead of speaking on the pure openness and beauty of this man’s healing journey and faith, you would rather criticize semantics. Jesus wasn’t petty and judgmental…so who are you really following.

@@Truthteller38 Sadly, you’re going to be really surprised when you read Revelation and see who Jesus actually is. Likewise, you failed to note that I celebrated both Carl and his wife. I just added the fact that he came with no Word or gospel and had 100% agreement and great vibes with two obvious sinners. Jesus loves you as you are but too much to let you stay that way. Carl and his wife are loved by the world because the world is just like them. The world loves messed up people, because they are just as messed up. However, Jesus told us to be holy and have a moral difference that shines light into their darkness and exposes their deeds of darkness. I leave with some words of Jesus you might not have read yet-- Revelation 3:16, “So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:3, “Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.” Revelation 2:20-23, “20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21 I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. 23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.”
