50 years ago at my home church in Willowick, Ohio. We had a supporting missionary, who was a MD preaching. And one of the people in the congregation had a heart attack and fell to the ground behind the pew . The missionary doctor went down and performed CPR while somebody went on the phone and called 911. In a minute or two paramedics in an ambulance, was at the church taking care of the victim. After the Person was taken to the hospital. The missionary doctor went up on the platform and continued his preaching.

Both of my parents had strokes & so did most of their siblings. I got very familiar with the signs of heart attacks as my Dad had one. They did an 8 bypass surgery on him. Didn't know they could do that many. He lived 20 years past that. I know we have security & a health team at our church

Not only is our security team coming along, but we have been blessed with two wonderful EMS that have been so eager to teach our team. I feel confident after training with them that I could actually administer proper care. Our elders have gotten on board, buying an AED. We have had CPR, active shooter medical, and AED training. Finally, Keith, you recommended the book "Left of Bang." I highly recommend it for all security team members.

This is exactly why I got with my pastor and organized a CPR class for the members of Calvary Chapel Hernando as well as helping with the purchase of an AED for the church. I a retired Firefighter/EMT and also a member of our security team. We're going to put on another CPR class for those members who couldn't attend the last one and we're going to have also have a First Aid class. We also just had our bi-anual Fire/Active Shooter evacuation drill this past Sunday. I'm a member of our "Unofficial" Security team so I thought it would be a good idea. I happy to announce it went well.

My Pain Management Dr. Theodore Nicholas from the Outer Banks is leaving me in January to become a traveling doctor for the VA to help vets obtain disability. If you get a chance to choose a provider, you want him as your examination expert. He listens and tries to accommodate your needs. I'm going to be so lost not having him after 10 years under his compassionate care. I pray for the vets who need disability services. Who knows, maybe he will need a nurse to help in some way, I think I'll offer. You never know.

Hey Kieth, I am not retired, just re-treaded. I don't have time to be retired. I am also a Pastor who did not take care of myself and ended up burning out and having to end my upfront ministry. That took me out into the general workforce where I had a great ministry to colleagues and those I came across at work. I basically was an unofficial workplace chaplain. I do not miss the stress of being a pastor. The pastor ministers to the people but who minister to the pastor?

There are state grants made possible through the federal government. It'll cover up to 100k. Medical supplies and training and some security stuff, if you want the fed and state help. Sorry I don't remember the grant name. You can u tube federal grants for houses of worship that should help you 🙏

I think he could feel it coming, perhaps he was perceiving the spirit as well. Maybe it was telling him what to say. He had the wherewithal to make what could have been his final message one of love, gratitude, and asking God for peace and forgiveness. I think that was extremely poignant, especially given his dubious past. That prayer was for himself as much as the audience. I’m not a fan of Bishop Jakes, but even if he is a deceiver he is still a human being. I hope he recovers and does better going forward.
