This was a big change for Benjamin. He was an alcoholic for a very long time and it took him almost dying and hitting rock bottom to come to a point in life where he wanted to live and find the meaning of life.

I took my best friend to see Breaking Benjamin this past Saturday, and she played this for me on the way home. I hadn't heard it before, but I've legit had it on repeat since then. Idk why yet. Usually that means God is trying to get a message through to me, and I'm just not getting it. I dig the channel, and the Biblical teachings. Between this and The Light, you made a sub out of me. Keep it up.

I've spent a good many of years praying for the chance to talk to god and as I grow older what I feel like is my take on it is god does respond but not so much in a voice but as a sign an action there's a video on KZbin somewhere of a mother crying at her young son's grave and a bird just out of nowhere perches on her finger and looks at her as if to say it's going to be ok. I like to believe that's god in those moments

In all honesty breaking Benjamin has Christian roots. However their lyrics did not always reflect as such. After all their trials they moved a little more into Christian and lordly content. #growthwithinpain At one point Benjamin became very sick. At most from what I can understand was on the verge of losing his voice. How terrible would that have been? This is my absolute favorite band of all time. Thanks for the reaction.

vayden1991 I get your point. But art does not have black and white. Art is about the individual perceiving the piece. Let's take this song... even though it was giving a mean as to what Ben meant it to be. That is just what the song means to him. People will feel it different and understand it differently as it will speak to something relatable to them in their lives. a sculpture is a sculpture of a woman right?? Well some will see the sculpture of the woman notice her expression and maybe the sadness on her face will make the entire piece mean something else to that person. Well that's just how I see it. I don't like others telling me hey this is what it is... you must also see it that way. Bullshit!! But that's just my opinion. Let's not overthink this😁

@@Teedawg44 yeah he talked about it a long time ago, on Lou Burtus's show. That he was really depressed after her suicide and it was those thoughts in the darkest recesses of the mind. He talked, about how he thought in a lot of ways that it was the devil whispering in his ear. Telling him to take his own life. But he didn't, and fought it, and survived.

The pastor makes good points. It does take discipline to still the mind. This is the first step. It is difficult to stop the mind from randomly thinking but slowly, over time, anyone can accomplish this. This was mentioned with "Be still and know that I am God". When you try this stilling of the mind, don't be discouraged if you can't still the mind for 3 minutes without thinking of something. The ego will convince you that you cannot accomplish this task and most likely many will convince themselves that it cannot be accomplished by their own deception. Only the individual knows if they are truthful to themselves when they attempt this stilling of the mind. Just remember, with God, everything is possible. And you can pray to him to help you overcome the distractions of random thoughts to get to the point of hearing the small still voice who speaks to you from within. After all, he is a God who hideth himself until he knows we are earnestly seeking him. Peace be with you.

When I was doing pre-reqs to get into BYU, I asked my advisor, "Why do we center our education around religion? I can't think of a time I've ever felt God's presence. I believe and have faith, but I find it hard to understand why such a pivotal part of my life is centered around religion. So why?" My advisor told me that I've felt God's presence, his influence, but I just haven't realized/recognized it. He then challenged me to write an essay about "My faith". For the essay, he said to choose an aspect of my life that impacted me through out my life, and to recall specific instances where that aspect had a changing impact in my life. He then said that after writing about those instances, to tie it together under the theme of "My faith in God"... that after doing so, I would see the answer to my question. I accepted his challenge, and did just that. I wrote about music - most of which, funny enough, was music by Breaking Benjamin. Through writing the essay, I realized that everytime I went through hardship and loss, I'd turn to music and things eventually got better - I realized God was giving me guidance through the music I would turn to. Thanks to my advisor and that essay, I realized that while it's not always clear, God will find a way to communicate his love and guidance to us all.

It's the 75 year old grandma again, I loved watching your faces through this song, It told me all. What a great song, like I said I love breaking Benjamin. But I wanted to quickly mention something to you about your earlier comments on another song about darkness. God can be found in the darkness, because He is after all omipresent, He is everywhere, He is even in Hell, After all King David said that God would find David there if need be. God once told me that he is the hell fire of hell. Because He is an all consuming fire, and to be in his presence without the cover of Jesus's blood, you are in that fire. Darkness is being in the presence of God with out His manifesting light, He is after all capable of anything.

See, i saw this more through the lens of losing people who were religious while i'm not. I'm more of an agnostic intellectually and at heart, i'm open to strong enough evidence, but i'm a practical atheist and require evidence to believe even though i'm relatively well versed in mythology and theology and religion for a young guy (pastor's grandson). But, since i have moments like this, i always saw it more as for a moment i'm hoping it's there and it's real, heaven and god and angels and all that or hell and all that, so that i can take solace in knowing i'll see them again wherever i would end up. It feels strange, because it's almost like for a moment i believe it to be true, for a moment i have Pastor Andy's faith. In my opinion, when someone says that they've prayed but nothing happened, or they say that they hear God or feel him, the answers are very simple. Ya didn't hear him, because you've not been willing to listen to him with your whole heart. You don't feel him because you haven't been willing to embrace him with your whole heart. In my opinion those thi g can only come whe. you are open enough to surrender to his love and compassion.

This song is about A Soul Mate and living Another life, if you Watch Breaking benjamin's orignal Video of Ashes of Eden, he is in a future like place than the female and male have space suits on and are going in to Earth (HOLDING) each other, Going to live a life on earth to find each other and he does not want her to let him Go. Ben Believes in God in real life this is about an experience he had but the person had lost their faith in life where HE held on to it For Her.. and he is showing his faith in God. and how Faith is real and how real faith is.. When ashes of Eden falls he is saying until God blows up the earth until the end of Earth to relive where there is no serpent... ( understand) He wants who ever he is singing about to open up again and not shut out the word especially him

The thing is the lyrics of this song aren't that surprising coming from Breaking Benjamin because Jasen Rauch, who is the former lead guitarist for the Christian metal band RED, had joined the band and co-wrote this song. Since he's joined there has been a lot of Christian influence and imagery in BB song lyrics.

U need to do some alter Bridge. ---- Not pushing my band, because its old and done with now, but we have a lot of Messiah and some prophetic stuff in there thats happening today and in the future The Lord had a hand in it and honestly didnt realize it until a few years after quitting the band and changing my life with turning back to the commandments. Learning the deeper teachings of Messiah through Moses...lear ing Hebrew and Hebraic thinking principles etc. Then the music made a lot of sense and its humbling how The Lord was with us the whole time. We were a message band but didn't quite get the emssage at the time..... Now it makes more sense ...... Which makes me want to jam again but those times are gone.

It can be frustrating to talk to silence and hope for an answer, and asking for a sign might not always be a billboard, that's easy to see. But the way i see it, is the price of faith. is faith.

Blessed are the eyes that see what you see, for I tell you, many kings and prophets have desired to see what you see and have not seen it, to hear what you hear and have not heard it. I thank you, Father, for hiding these things from the learned and the wise and revealing them to the innocent and the simple.

I’m a catholic and i know that faith gets alot of bad publicity but everyone i know that is cathyis a very good person and is willing to help anyone out. This song to me is very much how i feel though, im torn and i hope I’m a good person but im not sure. I sing this song at the top of my lungs driving around because i feel like it’s inclusive to everyone that believes and loves god. Breaking Benjamin is an unbelievably great band

God has spoken to me several times... I heard 2 distinct different male voices and a female voice... I was sitting in the park I called home and I looked down on the ground and seen 2 sticks that looked like a Scythe... And a female voice told me that the Grim Reaper was going to come for someone I cared about and not to worry I would be there... I was at the Gas Station I would hang around for company... A bad person that I happened to see with 2 Mac 10s on a strap in his trunk... Well him and another person got in a fight outside the station. The cashier my friend was going to call the police I told her no I will take care of it I went out and told them they can't do that here that cashier has to call the police no choice or she would loose her job and asked them to please leave and they did without any problems... Think what you will... I know the truth... Take care and have a great day everyone..
