Matt and Avi are different types of bass, Avi was an operatically trained basso profundo. he was offered a job in opera before joining Pentatonix. Matt is a lyric baa and is getting better with age. he is the youngest member of the group.

Subbed for more PTX reactions. I don’t know about PTX’s beliefs but their musical talents are unquestioned. I can’t desire if I’ll be a long term sub. I like talking about the members without the comparisons. Not fair to either Matt or Avi.

Hi! I'm Allen, and I currently identify myself as an eclectic pagan. Don't worry. I'm not here to argue religion. Lol I'm here to discuss BEAUTIFUL music! And I don't think anyone could argue that Pentatonix qualify in that category! The condensed version of my background... I was raised an evangelical Christian. Long story short - I knew from a VERY early age that I was gay. I was taught that if you were gay, you were on the express elevator to Hell. My problem with this was - I never CHOSE to be gay. I didn't just wake up one day and decide "Oh - I think I'm going to be gay today." Sorry - didn't happen. Again, I'm trying to condense a VERY long story into a short post. Anyway, I knew from a VERY early age that I was attracted to males, not females. I never CHOSE to be gay. Who, in their right mind, would CHOOSE to be gay, knowing what the majority of people think about gay people?? I spent the first 40 years of my life on my knees in tears BEGGING God to change me. To make me something acceptable in His sight. All I got in return was red eyes and sore knees. My thought was: If I didn't CHOOSE to be gay, that MUST mean that God MADE me gay. So how could a loving and forgiving God CREATE me gay, and then condemn me to Hell for being what HE MADE ME??? I could not find an answer to this question, so I began researching alternative religions - looking for religions that would accept me for who and what I was. I discovered paganism. Loved it. Embraced it. And have never looked back. Anyway, as I said, I'm not here to argue religion. I AM here to quote (or rather TRY to quote - sorry, but I can't remember his exact words) Kenny G. Kenny G was a very famous Jewish saxophonist from (I think) the late 80s/early 90s. One year he put out a beautiful Christmas album. People wanted to know why a Jewish artist would put out an album celebrating a Christian deity. His response was (and I'm para-quoting here): Christmas music is some of the most beautiful music ever written. And one does not have to be Christian in order to enjoy beautiful music. That has stuck with me for many years. No, I'm not Christian, but I LOVE Christmas music! And I'm not ashamed of it! :) Blessings of the season to you and yours!

For the love of God stop judging their personal lives. You are here to react to their music, not here to react to and judge their personal lives nor whether you believe they are worthy of heaven. They don’t go to your church. They have never asked you for spiritual guidance nor asked you for your opinion. You don’t know them personally so to go on and on every reaction about what you believe are their sins is ridiculous. They present music videos. Enjoy them or don’t based on the music. If you can’t get past feeling a need to mention their sins ( according to you without ever meeting them) maybe this is not the group for you. The Gaithers are a fantastic Christian professing group.

Well, since they are singing what is clearly a Christian song, I think the Pastor has the right to comment....I mean if you are not Christian, why are you singing a Christian song? Hypocrisy much? I find it incredible that people think it is ok to use and abuse Christianity when it suits them but wouldn't dream of doing that to any other religion. I agree that they are incredibly talented. That said... Matthew 5: "44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Having talent and/or earthly blessing is not a sure sign of God's favor or approval.

As a Christian I find this song interesting. The short answer is yes, Mary did know. Pastor is not criticizing or finding fault with anyones life. He speaks based on scripture, the contents of the Bible, the source of the truth. While Mary may not have known specicific events, she did know His significance

I appreciate what you are doing here. Personally, I think there are people out there that target reactors like you just to argue and try to discredit you. Being a Christian is not a popular stance in this day and time. You are brave for doing this regardless of the back lash. I found your insight very interesting. People that are offended by Christianity should perhaps not click on a professed Pastor’s channel. I do believe these singers (PTX) are some of the most talented people out there today, hands down. Since hearing this cover of Mary Did You Know, it is hard to even listen to anyone else try to cover it. I am a total choir nerd and the harmony is insane with these guys. They are masters of their craft! Thanks for sharing.

I am of the tribes of Judah and Levi and was raised in a "Christian congregation". That did not in anyway diminish my Hebraic DNA. Being a Christian is a belief system, Judaism is a belief system, being of the tribes of Jacob is DNA.

I love Matt! Avi, however, is an exceptionally trained Basso Profundo in the truest sense of the world. I have grown very comfortable praising both of their exceptional voices and what they have each contributed to PTX. They are each exceptional.

Every time I listen to this song(and it's quiet often 😂) as a mother, when you hold that little baby I can't even imagine every thought and fear that went through her head. It must have been so overwhelming. It makes me look at my own children and wonder what testimony their lives oneday will be to the world of our Father. I never comment but had to say I greatly appreciate your understanding and knowledge. Have a blessed day

FYI - A little known bit of trivia about the cave Pentatonix used for this video. The cave is located in Los Angeles, Griffith Park to be specific. Also, this cave was used as the Bat Cave during the original Batman TV series.

Possibly. I may try that at some point. I've seen some reaction formats where it's mostly commentary at the end. I think it may be tougher to get past the copyright if the whole song is isolated at the beginning though.

Pentatonix, believers? I find that ridiculous. Avi came from a large extended family of Messianic Jews/Levi probably but does not seem to walk in his parents footsteps. He tries to live his life in a strong moral stance but it would be very hard to categorize him as a Believer.

How do you square Matthew 17:5 with calling Jesus "God"? That sounds alot like the "trinity"... Jesus was speaking when the voice came down from the cloud and said "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." Then in Matthew 17:22 +23, Jesus speaking to his disciples said"...The son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men. And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again." And in the Diaglott, original Greek to English - word for word - translation, it says "This is my son, the BELOVED, in whom I delight; hear him." ❤

My opinions may not be well received by many but have one I do... Avi...my choice for bass...he has his own talents that are shown in gentle songs now that he is solo..however an early recording after leavng PTX shows his determination to conquer and survive..💥...Change On The Rise...if you haven't hear it consider putting it on your list... you'll understand afterwards... Mitch..Scott..and Kristin sang together as school friends..even in church for years and became familiar with delivering gospel songs...one of the early traits..as I don't follow the new line-up I'm not aware of current arrangements..they were noted for building a wall of sound.. tension..and release..which is very satisfying in the arrangements... Kevin professes a Christian belief..while on the Sing Off.. Kevin was uncomfortable with lyrics in a song so they changed them to accommodate Kevin... That being said.. I stopped following them primarily due to their..Mitch & Scott.. personal life choices...yes many recite the old saying " what consenting adults do in the privacy of their homes is none of my business"...ahh here I differ...a quick look around is proof of not caring...the hedonistic lifestyles are not what Jesus or God want for Their children... I can only pray their hearts and souls will be opened to seek Jesus and redemption... To end my rant..yes the most beautiful rendition of this song and the only reason I listen to it as done by them... I prefer Home Free and their cover of Mary Did You Know..another a'capella group of 5 gentlemen who are all about Faith.. Family..Country... You should give them a listen... they !do a cover of 💥...Brother... originally done by Need To Breathe..a Christian group... Also many beautiful gospels and Christmas songs...
