Reports say the church has committed an estimated N18 billion to the project.
The Latter Rain Assembly pastored by Tunde Bakare, maximized discontinuity by rebranding as The Citadel Global Community Church- CGCC.
It is no coincidence that initial facility of the church stands on a renovated factory building, previously owned by one among the many manufacturers who had to close shop in late 80’s as a result of the hostile operating environment of that period.

The foundations was laid in 2015... I was there during the foundation laying. Actual building did not commence till about 2 years later. As at the last briefing by pastor we had spent over 12billion naira. The initial budget was 6 billion before the devaluation of the naira occurred . However having listened to pastor Bakare, pastor Biola, pastor Uche and the rest on several occasions online, there teachings have always centred around Godliness, holiness, righteousness and establishment of God's kingdom on planet earth. So it is now left for the hearers to live a holy lifestyle. OK accepting that it's the government's repsonsibility, but they are not listening haven't the pastors tried to pray to God about the situation as well? If they have how come that's not worked? Is the church actually just another business company or is there an existing God behind it that actually responds by answering prayer etc? Also would be nice if you are a little bit more charitable to people who have an opposing view to you and not call them "possessed with legions of demons" and simply deal with their viewpoints. Those who feel negatively about the wealth churches are amassing can support themselves from the bible just as much as you can support your own view point. For example, weren't the early church with peter in it recorded as selling their belongings and giving to the poor? The opposing point which you are denigrating is at least just as valid as yours.
